Strategies to get the very best Currituck vacation property experience:
Get the best rental value:
- Summer months are the most expensive season in coastal NC. To find the best value, try shifting your group's vacation week to the Spring or Fall months. May, September, and even October offer pleasant temperatures, less crowded beaches, and greatly reduced traffic.
- Reserve your vacation rental as early as possible. Rental schedules often become available a year in advance (or in September just after Summer ends). Many groups book their Summer rentals during Winter holiday gatherings. Book before these holidays for best selection.
- Property managers sometimes offer discounts for veterans and active duty military. Ask your host or property manager if special offers are available for your family before you book.
- Management companies and individual rental owners frequently offer renters an option to purchase vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which generally will cost you between 1% - 5% of the stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for days missed as a result of personal medical-related issues or weather, as well as ensuing additional evacuation charges, such as an unanticipated hotel stay or extra gasoline expenses. Trip insurance can be a a life-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask the property owner for program terms and fees.
- Often, property management companies supply Currituck area visitor guides which include money-saving deals, either offered directly by local businesses, or through a relationship with the rental management company and the business itself. You can also find Currituck visitors guide magazine and coupon books at local gas stations and shopping centers.
How to pick the perfect vacation rental in Corolla:
- First and foremost, have your group select trip dates and a maximum budget.
- Note the number beds and the configuration your group needs. See Horse Corral At Corolla Bay 4 Bedroom Oceanside Home! Beat The Traffic With FlexStay! has 4 bedrooms and 4 bathrooms.
- Specific information regarding bedrooms and bed counts & types is generally accessible online. If they are not listed, email or call the property management company before reserving the rental. Remember that most listings specify maximum guest capacity, which typically includes sofa beds in living rooms. You will need to establish what configuration is right for your vacation.
- Are you visiting for a single event or attraction? If so, use a map search to browse nearby properties.
- Appropriate accessibility can make or break a vacation for guests with disabilities. Remember to confirm all necessary amenities are available and included before booking
- If your group is traveling with pets, you'll need to book a rental that allows animals. Ask for information on breed, weight, and type restrictions. Some property managers charge additional pet fees.
More considerations for your visit:
- Take a copy of the host's contact number and arrival/departure procedures for your rental.
- To make sure no damages are attributed to your family's stay, inspect the property for any problem areas during check in. Contact the property manager immediately to document your findings. If there is a dispute about who is responsible, having the recorded concerns and contact attempts will be valuable.
- Hosts are great sources of help! Don't be shy to ask any questions during your stay.
- Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking regulations can make a stay more pleasurable. You'll magnify your chance to make local friends, and resident neighbors can be an excellent source for finding the best local beaches.
- Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Locals can usually help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to enjoy a steak with a view, have a great night out, or the best spots for fishing?
- Protect the property owner (and your stuff!) by keeping the rental locked up while you are away, just like you would at home.
- Just prior to departing, complete a walk-through to make sure you didn't forget anything. Remember to check bathrooms, garages, and back yards for hidden treasure. Clean out the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Inspect the rental one final time and scan for damages to contents or the property itself. We advise walking through with the host whenever possible. If the property manager is not available, ensure that you take photos and video of the property to record its condition at check-out.
- Did you have a terrific stay? Many rental websites make it easy for customers to provide feedback. If your property and/or host was great, they would love to hear about it. If anything was amiss and they failed to address it within reason, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make it a point as part of your comments.
