Tips and Tricks to get the very best Currituck vacation rental experience:
How to get the best rental home value:
- The sooner your group can book, the easier your search will be. The best properties are reserved early. Reserving your vacation rental six to twelve months before your vacation is recommended. Holiday gatherings are excellent times to search for and reserve your vacation home.
- Summer months are the most expensive season in the Currituck area. Reserving a rental home in Fall or Spring months is one of our best tips for saving money on your vacation home. Rates are lower, and you'll find a larger selection of suitable properties.
- Veterans and Active Duty Military members may qualify for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property owner or host if your family qualifies for a special rate.
- Property management companies frequently offer guests an option to obtain trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which will generally cost anywhere between 1% - 5% of the base stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for missed days as a result of personal medical-related catastrophes or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional evacuation costs or charges, such as an unanticipated hotel overnight or extra fuel expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a bank account-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask the property owner for specifics.
- Many management companies supply Currituck area travel guide magazines that include money-saving deals, either offered independently by local businesses, or by way of a partnership between the property management company and the business itself. You can also find Currituck area magazine and coupon books at local shops and grocery stores.
How to choose and book yourvacation home:
- Begin by choosing a vacation week and a spending budget.
- Decide how many beds and the configuration your group needs. C9072 Casa Bonita. 4 BR, Semi-Oceanfront, Panoramic Ocean Views, 4x4 Area! has 4 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms.
- Precise descriptions of bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is regularly accessible online. If they are not listed, email or call the property manager before booking the home. Remember that most listings specify maximum guest capacity, which oftentimes includes sofa beds and bunks. You will need to work out what is right for your vacation.
- Are you bringing the family pet? Many vacation homes allow animals, but guidelines and restrictions apply. Type of pet, size and breeds may be limited. Ask your property manager before booking, and study your rental agreement! Additional fees or charges could be applied to your invoice.
- Visiting for a specific attraction? If so, use a map search to find nearby properties.
- Proper accessibility can make or break a vacation for guests that require the use of a wheelchair. Remember to confirm all required amenities are available before booking
Tips to have a great stay:
- Get the host's contact number and arrival/departure procedures for your rental. Put the host's information in your smartphone and wallet.
- Ask questions. You may need instructions for a hot tub, intercom or WIFI setup. Contact your owner. They are there to help! A brief text message can prevent lots of difficulties.
- Protect the rental owner (and your things!) by keeping the rental locked up while you are gone, just like you would at home.
- During check-in, document any damages to the property and immediately contact the property manager. Record all coorespondence.
- Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like obnoxious visitors disrupting your peaceful neighborhood. Apply the golden rule for best judgement. Happy residents may even recommend great beaches and scenic spots you would've not otherwise known!
- Don't forget to... Ask a local! Residents can often point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to find the fresh catch of the day, have a great night out, or the best spots for fishing?
- Don't leave anything behind! Just before departing, take a walk through the rental to confirm you've collected all personal belongings. Remember to check dressers, closets, and bathrooms for hidden belongings. Clean out the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Record a video to document the condition of the property.
- Did you have a wonderful vacation? Most rental managers make it easy for travelers to provide comments. If your rental property and/or property manager was fantastic, they would love to hear it. If anything was wrong and they failed to correct it reasonably, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make a note as part of your review.
