THIS COASTAL RETREAT IS AN OUTDOOR ENTHUSIASTS' PARADISE, located just 30 minutes from the Outer Banks, and has stunning views of the Currituck Sound. Campers will be able to choose from RV Rentals, deluxe cabins, waterfront or inland RV sites, seasonal RV sites and tent camping.

The KOA waterfront has over a half-mile of shoreline, so there will be tons of fun on the water. Guests will be able to cast a line from five onsite fishing piers, launch a boat from the campground’s two ramps, or just enjoy the view of the Currituck Sound. There will also be fun for the whole family on dry land. Organize a pickup game on the volleyball court, kids can fly high on the jump pad and pups will love the dog park.

Our activities staff will be on hand to make sure there’s never a dull moment. Our 7,500 square foot recreation and events space will accommodate groups of all sizes and our Group Coordinator will be there to ensure events run smoothly from start to finish.

Outer Banks West KOA is just 24 miles from H2OBX and shopping, dining and entertainment are just a short drive away in Jarvisburg and Grandy. Escape and immerse yourself in nature at this secluded oasis.

Occupant Policy
A maximum of six occupants are permitted per RV site.
The maximum number of occupants on an accommodation site cannot exceed the maximum number of guests the unit can sleep.

Cancellation Policy
RV sites and tents: If a reservation is canceled more than 48 hours before the arrival date all but $10 of your deposit will be refunded. Reservations canceled within 48 hours of the arrival date are subject to a cancellation fee of the first night's stay plus tax. For holiday dates If your reservation is canceled 14 days before your arrival, we will provide a full refund, minus a $10 cancellation fee per reservation. Cancellations made after 14 days before your arrival are subject to a cancellation fee of the first night's stay plus tax deposit.Cottages: If canceled more than 30 from your arrival date, all but $20 of your deposit will be refunded. Cancellations made after 30 days prior to your arrival date are subject to a cancellation fee of the first night's stay plus tax deposit.

Deposit Policy
The standard deposit for all campground reservations is the first-night stay plus tax at the time of reservation.

Pet Policy
A copy of the rabies certificate is required to be provided at the time of check-in. All guests will be required to sign a pet agreement at the time of check-in.
There is no limit to the number of pets allowed on an RV site. There is no pet fee charged for pets on an RV site.
A maximum of two pets per pet-friendly accommodation per night are allowed. A $10 per day per pet fee will be applied to all reservations with pets.

Visitor Policy
A $10 fee, which includes the vehicle fee, will be charged per visitor.
All visitors must leave by 10 p.m. of the day they are visiting.
Visitors must not exceed the maximum number of guests allowed on a site.

Vehicles
One vehicle is included in the site fee. One extra vehicle may be parked on your site for an additional $10 per day.

Golf Carts
A $10 per day fee will be charged for guest golf carts.
All guests must fill out a golf cart waiver for rental golf carts.
There is no fee for seasonal campers who wish to bring their own golf cart.

Most know The Cotton Gin as a must-stop shop for fine gifts, beachwear, souvenirs and so much more, but this retailer has a long-standing history within the Outer Banks. A local landmark that holds almost a century of memories, The Cotton Gin started from humble beginnings and continues to adapt to the times and tourists. Tommy Wright’s family has been in the Outer Banks for nearly 200 years. His great-great grandfather, Jacob Francis Wright, shipwrecked in Duck back in the early 1800s. Calling these barrier islands his new home, Wright and his family acclimated to their new environment.

 

Adaptation is a common theme for the Wright family. Tommy and his wife Candace, who continue to steer The Cotton Gin, have seen not only their business change with the times, but the Outer Banks as a vacation destination as well. A farm market in Jarvisburg eventually transformed and flourished into several retail locations dotting the Outer Banks.

 

“As the area changed and tourism took off in the 1960s, the family saw people coming for vacations, so they began to grow vegetables and things developed from there,” says Tommy Wright. The Wright family expanded upon the farm market and began to remodel a working cotton gin, later transforming the gin into The Cotton Gin general store in the late 1960s. While the additions to the farm store drew visitors, it was their encounters with the Wright family that kept people coming back year after year, which is something that remains true today.
