New Listing*** ~ SOUND LEGACY ~ Sound and Sunset Vistas ~ This property is within walking distance to Whalehead Beach, the biggest most broad sought after beach in the Corolla area with private beach parking, if you prefer not to walk, just a short distance from the dunes and directly across the street. A well-equipped kitchen offers the comfort of home and the ability to create culinary delights. This intelligent home offers WiFI, T.V.s in all rooms, and a kid security alarm at the sliding door leading to the pool. It is also in proximity to grocery stores, dining, and shopping.

You will find a game room with access to a mini-kitchen complete with a wet bar, mini-refrigerator, ice maker, and microwave. The entertainment area consists of a TV, a console containing a variety of board games, and a couch. Outside the alarmed sliding glass door, relax and appreciate the 10- by 24-foot private pool or the therapeutic spa. The enclosed outdoor shower is also located in this fenced area along with outdoor dining and many lounge chairs for everybody to savor the outdoors.

There is an airy great room with handsome floor, high ceilings, a 55” TV, and an electric fireplace providing ambience and heat if needed. The open design of the top floor accepts max. vistas of the sound and sunset. The seating area is open to the main deck also providing spectacular vistas of the sound, especially at sunset. The deck off the dining area provides for enjoyment of the activities of the pool below as well as supervision. The kitchen offers stainless steel appliances, granite countertops, a huge island with seating, bespoke cabinets, and a pantry. The dining area is cavernous and is finished by a coffee station or bar.

There are two additional decks on the mid-level and a washer/dryer.

There is a main suite with a private bath with a tiled bathtub and shower and access to a deck facing the expansive view of the Currituck Sound. One guest bedroom features a terrace with vistas of the pool, and another is ideal for families and can sleep numerous kids in a twin-over-double bunk bed and a twin trundle. A portable crib and bed are available on-site and will fit gorgeously in this space.

The pool is unheated and open from the end of April through mid-October.

Hot tub is available year round.

About the Area

Located in Corolla, this vacation home is near the beach. Outer Banks Center for Wildlife Education and Wild Horse Museum are cultural highlights, and some of the area's attractions include Corolla Adventure Golf and Bumper Cars and Corolla Raceway. Nor'Banks Sailing and Digger's Dungeon - Home of Grave Digger are also worth visiting. Be sure to check out the area's animals with activities such as game walks and birdwatching.

Finding your perfect rental home:

  • Book your rental as early as possible. Rental schedules usually become available twelve months in advance (or in September just after Summertime ends). Many groups reserve their Summer rental homes during Christmas and Thanksgiving get-togethers. Book before these holidays for best selection.
  • June, July, and August are the most expensive months along the coast of NC. To book the most suitable rental within budget, we highly recommend reserving in Spring or Fall. You'll benefit from lower rates, better selection, gorgeous weather and the absence of large crowds at the beach and popular Currituck attractions.
  • Veterans and Active Duty Military members may be qualified for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective host whether your group qualifies for a price reduction or discount.
  • Property managers typically offer their guests an option to buy trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which costs anywhere between 1% - 5% of the stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for days missed as a result of personal medical-related catastrophes or weather disasters, as well as hurricane evacuation costs, such as an unexpected hotel overnight or extra gas expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a welcome relief if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your host for program terms and fees.

  • If your family is traveling with pets, you will need a pet-friendly vacation rental. Get details on breed, weight, and type restrictions. Often, property owners charge pet deposits and fees.
  • If there's an individual Currituck attraction you crave, search for homes that are either close by, or those that cater especially to your desires.
  • Proper accessibility can make or break a vacation for guests that require the use of a wheelchair. Confirm all required amenities are included before booking

  • Get the property manager's contact number and entry/exit procedures for your rental.
  • Property managers are great sources of help! Feel free to ask questions during your stay.
  • Lock your vacation home while you're away. Protect the owner's property and your stuff!
  • Document any issues with the property during check in, and immediately e-mail them to the host. We especially recommend texts and e-mails, as they usually contain built-in time stamps that are helpful if damages are assessed.
  • Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like obnoxious vacationers bothering your peace and quiet. Apply the golden rule for best judgement. Happy residents may even recommend great beaches and scenic spots you would've not otherwise known about!
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Residents can typically point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to find the best seashells, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for bird watching?
  • Don't leave anything behind! Before departing, walk through the rental to confirm you've collected all personal items. Check bathrooms, dressers, and closets for hidden items. Clean out the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Please make sure to walk through the rental a final time and look for damages to contents or the property itself. We suggest inspecting the property with the property manager whenever you can (often this isn't possible). If the property manager isn't available, take photographs of the rental to record its condition.
  • Leave feedback! Hosts rely on excellent ratings to inspire future bookings. They'll be grateful for your review. Alternatively, if something wasn't right, other families will be thankful you shared your feedback find their best rental home. Be fair with your review.
