How to find the best vacation property experience:
How to get the best rental home value:
- In the Currituck area, The earlier you can book a rental home, the easier your search will be. The most desirable rental homes are reserved early. Booking your rental up to 12 months before your vacation dates is recommended. Winter holidays are excellent times to search for and reserve your rental property.
- To find the most suitable rental for your budget, we highly recommend booking in Fall or Spring. You'll benefit from lower rental rates, better selection, gorgeous weather and the absence of giant crowds at local restaurants, tours, and activities.
- Property management companies sometimes offer discounts for veterans. It's always a good idea to check with your property manager to see if discounts are available for your family before you book.
- Property managers usually offer renters an option to purchase trip insurance. Trip insurance, which normally costs 1% - 5% of the booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any missed days as a result of medical-related catastrophes or weather, as well as evacuation charges, such as an unexpected hotel overnight or additional gas expenses. Trip insurance might be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen occurs. Ask the property owner for more information.
- Find a copy of your local Currituck visitors guide magazine when you arrive at the rental property. If your rental home doesn't have one, you can find them at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers. In addition to great local stories, visitor guide magazines contain discounts for local accommodations, restaurants and tours.
Use filters to search efficiently:
- First, have your group decide on dates and a max budget.
- Decide how many beds and the configuration your family requires. Marga-Lisa: Private Pool, Monteray Shores Community Amenities has 4 bedrooms and 4 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our Currituck rental home search.
- Precise descriptions of bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is normally available on booking websites. If you don't see them listed, call the property manager before reserving the home. Note that most listings specify the max. guest capacity, which typically includes pull out couches in living rooms.
- If your family is vacationing with pets, you'll need to find a property that allows animals. Ask for details on breed, weight, and type restrictions. Some property managers charge pet deposits and fees.
- If there's a certain Currituck destination you are crazy about, look for rentals that are either close by, or those that cater especially to your desires.
- Suitable accessibility can make or break a vacation for those with limited mobility. Make certain to ask about wheel chair accessibility, pool lifts and specialized equipment needs.
More considerations:
- Take a copy of the host's phone number and check in/check out procedures for your rental property.
- Ask questions. You may need instructions for a fireplace, elevator or WIFI setup. Contact your owner. They are there to help! A brief telephone call prevents quite a few problems.
- Lock your rental while you are out and about. Keep your property safe!
- Note any issues with the property upon arrival, and immediately contact the host. We specifically recommend e-mails and text messages, as they usually contain time stamps that are helpful if there is a dispute.
- Respect your neighbors. Often times, nearby homes are filled by permanent residents. Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking policies can make a stay significantly more pleasurable.
- Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Local residents can typically help. Who better to ask where to see a beautiful sunrise or sunset, have a great night out, or the best spots for fine dining?
- Don't leave anything behind! Before you drive away, walk through the rental property to reconfirm you've collected everything. Check garages, decks, and cabinets for hidden items. Clean the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Record a video to document the condition of the property.
- Leave feedback! Hosts rely on excellent feedback to stimulate new bookings. They'll be grateful for your review. Alternatively, if something went awry, other vacationers will appreciate that you share your review and help them have the best future vacation. Remember to be objective. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the owner had any control over the issue, and if so, whether they responded quickly to solve it.
