Strategies to get the optimal Currituck vacation home experience:
When to book a Currituck rental home & When to go:
- The sooner you can book a rental home, the better your selection will be. The most desirable rental homes are reserved very early. Reserving your rental home up to twelve months before your travel dates is recommended. Holidays such as Christmas and Thanksgiving are excellent times to search for and book your vacation home.
- June, July, and August are the most expensive months in coastal NC. To find the best rental home for your budget, we highly recommend reserving in Fall or Spring months. You'll benefit from lower rental rates, better selection, gorgeous weather and the absence of giant crowds at local restaurants, tours, and activities.
- Property management companies sometimes offer discounts for veterans and active duty military. Check with your host or property manager to see if special discounts are available for your group before you book.
- Booking websites typically offer guests an option to add vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which usually will cost you between 1% - 5% of the stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any missed time as a result of medical-related issues or weather disasters, as well as hurricane evacuation charges, such as an unanticipated hotel stay or extra gas expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a welcome relief if the unforeseen happens. Ask the property owner for additional information.
- Look for your local visitors guide upon checking in. If your rental doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers. In addition to great information, travel guides contain offers and deals for local shops and restaurants.
Planning and picking the perfect Currituck rental home:
- To start, have your family commit to trip dates and a maximum budget.
- Private Pool, Hot Tub has 4 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms.
- Specific information about bedrooms and bed types is generally accessible online. If they are not listed, call the property owner before reserving the vacation property. Remember that most properties list the max. guest capacity, which frequently includes pull out couches in living rooms.
- Remember to include your furry companions! Although a number of vacation homes allow pets or animals, guidelines and costs vary per property. Type of pet, size and breeds may be limited. Make sure to ask before booking, and study your agreement! Additional fees or costs might be applied to your agreement.
- Visiting for a single event? If so, use a map search to find nearby properties.
- Appropriate accessibility can make or break a vacation for the less-mobile. Confirm all necessary amenities are available and included before reserving a rental.
More considerations for your visit:
- Review arrival and departure procedures before leaving home. Save the directions to your phone, and take a printed backup.
- Property managers are great sources of help! Feel free to ask any questions during your stay.
- Lock your rental property while you're gone! Don't let burglars ruin your holiday.
- To make certain that damages are not linked to your visit, inspect for any problem areas when you arrive. Call the property manager right away to relay any pre-existing damages. If there is a dispute about legal responsibility later, having a record of concerns and contact attempts will be very helpful.
- Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like disrespectful visitors bothering your peace. Practice the golden rule for common sense. Happy residents may even recommend great beaches and attractions you would've not otherwise known about!
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Neighbors can often help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to book the best tours, have a great night out, or the best spots for fishing?
- Re-check every room of the rental property to make sure that you've packed all of your family's items on check-out day. Make sure to check bathrooms, dressers, and closets for hidden items. Clean out the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Record a video to document the condition of the property.
- Did you have a great time? Many rental websites make it easy for customers to provide feedback. If your property and/or property management company was great, they always love to hear your praise. If anything was wrong and they failed to correct it in a reasonable manner, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make a note as part of your feedback.
