Vacation rental home tips:
Find your perfect rental home:
- Summertime is high season in Corolla. Reserve your rental in Fall or Spring months to enjoy warm weather while saving money and avoiding crowds.
- Reserve your vacation rental as early as possible. Rental schedules usually become available a year in advance (or in September just after the Summer season ends). Many families reserve their Summer vacation rentals during Thanksgiving and Christmas get-togethers. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
- Veterans and Active Duty Military members may be qualified for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property manager if your family qualifies for a price reduction.
- Property management companies frequently offer customers an option to purchase vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which costs 1% - 5% of the base booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for missed days as a result of medical-related catastrophes or weather disasters, as well as evacuation charges, such as an unexpected hotel overnight or extra gas expenses. Trip insurance can be a a bank account-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask the property owner for details.
- Look for your local Currituck area magazine upon arrival. If your rental home doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local shops and visitor centers. In addition to great information, travel guides contain offers and deals for local accommodations, restaurants and tours.
Filter your search:
- Start by selecting trip dates and a spending budget.
- Note the number bedrooms and the configuration your group needs. Half Past Twelve: Private Saltwater Pool, Currituck Club Amenities has 4 bedrooms and 4 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our Currituck rental home search.
- Specific descriptions of bedrooms and bed counts is normally available on booking websites. If they are not listed, email the property manager before you reserve your rental. Note that most listings specify maximum guest capacity, which typically includes sofa beds and bunks. You will need to work out what configuration is optimal for your group.
- Are you looking for specific amenities? Most rental websites include amenity lists and search filters. Use these to your advantage to find the perfect rental home.
- Suitable accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for guests with disabilities. Confirm all required amenities are available and included before booking.
- If your family is bringing pets, you will need a pet-friendly rental. Make sure to ask for specifics on breed, weight, and type restrictions. Some hosts require additional pet deposits and fees.
More tips for your visit:
- Review check in & check out procedures before traveling. Take a printed copy, and save the instructions to your smartphone.
- To make certain no damages are linked to your stay, inspect for any problem areas upon check in. E-mail the host right away to document any pre-existing damages. If there is a dispute about legal responsibility later, having a record of problems and contact attempts will be very helpful.
- Ask questions. You may need instructions for a hot tub, intercom or thermostat. Contact your owner. They are there to help! A brief call can prevent quite a few problems.
- Respect your neighbors. Often, nearby homes are occupied by permanent residents. Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking policies is the right thing to do.
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Locals can frequently help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to go for the best drinks, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for fishing?
- Lock your rental home while you're away. Protect your property!
- At departure, complete a final walk-through to make sure you didn't forget any personal items. Make sure to check bathrooms, garages, and back yards for hidden items. Clean the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Go through the property one final time and keep an eye out for damages to contents or the property itself. We advise walking through with the property manager whenever you can (often this isn't possible). If the manager is not available, remember to take photographs of the property to record its condition at check-out.
- Did you have a wonderful time? Many rental management companies make it easy for vacationers to provide comments. If your rental property and/or host was wonderful, they always love to hear your praise. If anything was out of order and they failed to correct it reasonably, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make a note as part of your feedback.
