Tips and Tricks to get the best rental home experience:

Finding your perfect rental:

  • Summer time is high season in Corolla. Reserve your Currituck rental property in Spring or Fall to enjoy warm weather while saving money and avoiding crowded roads, restaurants, and activities. Many vacationers use this strategy to find larger homes within budget, or to book an oceanfront vacation rental that would otherwise be unavailable or unaffordable during June, July, and August.
  • The earlier you can book, the easier your search will be. The most desirable rental properties are booked early. Reserving your rental up to twelve months before your travel dates is recommended. Holidays such as Christmas and Thanksgiving are excellent times to search for and reserve your rental.
  • Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may qualify for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property management company or host whether your vacationing group qualifies for a special promotion or discount.
  • Property management companies frequently offer renters an option to buy trip insurance. Trip insurance, which generally will cost you 1% - 5% of the booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any missed time as a result of medical-related issues or weather disasters, as well as evacuation costs, such as an unexpected hotel or extra gasoline expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a life-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask your property manager for specifics.
  • Many rental management companies and vacation rental houses supply Currituck area travel guides that include coupons, either offered independently by local businesses, or by way of a partnership between the property management company and the business itself. You can also find Currituck visitors guide and coupon books at local shops and grocery stores.

Planning, picking, and booking your prefect Currituck rental:

  • Choose dates and budget.
  • Determine how many bedrooms and what type of bedroom configuration you need. Whalehead Beach, oceanside with private pool and hot tub, rec room with pool tab has 6 bedrooms and 5 bathrooms.
  • Specific descriptions of bedrooms and bed counts & types is commonly accessible online. If they are not listed, email or call the property owner before you reserve your home. Remember that most listings specify the max. guest capacity, which oftentimes includes pull-out couches. You will need to determine what configuration is suitable for your trip.
  • If there's a specific Currituck destination you crave, look for homes that are either close by, or those that cater especially to your desires.
  • Proper accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for persons with disabilities. Confirm all necessary amenities are available before booking
  • If your group is bringing pets, search for a property that allows animals. Make sure to ask for information on breed, size, and type requirements. Usually, property managers charge additional pet fees.

More considerations for your visit:

  • Review arrival and departure procedures before leaving home. Take a printed copy, and add a note with the instructions to your smartphone.
  • During arrival, record any damages to the property and immediately alert the owner. Record all coorespondence.
  • Hosts are available to help! Feel free to ask any questions during your stay.
  • Be respectful. Often times, adjacent homes are occupied by permanent residents. Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking policies is the right thing to do.
  • Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Local residents can frequently help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to launch your kayaks, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for fine dining?
  • Lock your vacation home while you're out and about. Keep your property safe!
  • Don't leave anything behind! Just before departing, take a walk through the property to make sure you've collected all of your things. Check dressers, closets, and bathrooms for hidden belongings. Clean out the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Document the condition of the property at check-out. We recommend taking a video during your final walk-through.
  • Did your group have a fantastic time? Most rental management companies make it easy for guests to provide comments. If your rental property and/or property management company was great, they will likely appreciate your kind words. If anything was wrong and they failed to address it within reason, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make a note as part of your feedback.
