How to find the best vacation property experience:
Getting the most from your rental home budget:
- June, July, and August are the most expensive months in coastal NC. Reserving a rental home in Spring or Fall is our favorite way to save money on your rental home. Rental rates are lower, and you'll find a larger selection of desirable homes. Many vacationers use this strategy to find larger homes within budget, or to book an oceanfront rental that would otherwise be unavailable or unaffordable during the Summer.
- Book your vacation home as soon as possible. Rental schedules often open 12 months in advance (or in September just after Summertime ends). Many families book their Summer vacation rentals during Christmas and Thanksgiving get-togethers. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
- Owners sometimes offer discounts or promotional rates for veterans and active duty military. Make sure to check with your property manager to see if special discounts are available for your group.
- Management companies and individual rental owners often offer renters an option to obtain vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which usually costs between 1% - 5% of the base booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any missed time as a result of personal medical-related issues or weather, as well as ensuing additional evacuation costs, such as an unexpected hotel or extra fuel expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a bank account-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your property manager for specifics.
- Many property management companies supply Currituck area travel guides which will include special offers, either offered directly by local businesses, or by way of a relationship between the rental management company and the business itself. You can also find visitors guide and coupon books at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers.
How to select the best vacation home in Corolla:
- Choose vacation week and max budget.
- Determine how many beds and the bed configuration you need. Bikinis and Bellinis. Huge Pool Hot tub Game Rm 4x4 required has 6 bedrooms and 7 bathrooms.
- Specific descriptions of bedrooms and bed counts & types is regularly accessible on booking pages. If you don't see them listed, email the property management company before reserving the property. Remember that most property listings specify the max. guest capacity, which oftentimes includes sofa beds and bunks.
- If there's a specific Currituck beach you long to visit, look for properties that are either close by, or those that cater especially to your requirements.
- Appropriate accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for persons with disabilities. Confirm all required amenities are included before booking.
- If your group is bringing pets, you'll need to find a rental that allows animals. Ask for specifics on breed, weight, and type requirements. Usually, property owners require additional pet deposits and fees.
More considerations:
- Take a copy of the owner's contact number and arrival/departure procedures for your rental home. We recommend storing the host's information in your smartphone and wallet.
- Upon arrival, record any issues with the rental property and immediately alert the property manager. Record all coorespondence.
- Ask questions. You may want instructions for a fireplace, elevator or appliance. Contact your owner. They are there to help! A brief call can prevent lots of issues.
- Respect the neighborhood. Often, surrounding homes are occupied by permanent residents. Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking rules reduces conflict and allows everyone to enjoy their day.
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Locals can often help. Who better to ask where to order the best nachos, have a great night out, or the best spots for crabbing?
- Keep your rental home locked while you are gone! Don't let thieves ruin your trip.
- Don't leave anything behind! Before departing, take a walk through the rental property to make sure you've collected all personal items. Remember to check bathrooms, garages, and back yards for hidden belongings. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Go through the rental a final time and scan for damage. We suggest walking through with the host whenever you can. If the host isn't available, take video and pictures of the rental to record its condition at check-out.
- Did your group have a excellent stay? Many rental managers make it easy for travelers to provide feedback. If your rental property and/or host was terrific, they always love to hear your praise. If anything was wrong and they failed to correct it within reason, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make it a point as part of your review.
