How to find the best vacation home experience:
Finding the best value:
- Summer time is high season in the Currituck area. Reserve your vacation in Spring or Fall to enjoy gorgeous weather while saving money and avoiding crowded roads, restaurants, and activities. Many vacationers use this strategy to find larger homes within budget, or to reserve a beach front rental that would otherwise be unaffordable during June, July, and August.
- The sooner your group can reserve a vacation rental, the better your selection will be. The best rental homes are reserved early. Reserving your rental home six to twelve months before your vacation dates is recommended. Christmas, Thanksgiving and New Years Eve are excellent times to plan and book your rental property.
- Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may be qualified for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective vacation rental company or host if your group qualifies for a special promotion or discount.
- Management companies and individual rental owners typically offer customers an option to buy trip insurance. Trip insurance, which normally costs 1% - 5% of the stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any days missed as a result of personal medical-related issues or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation costs or charges, such as an unanticipated hotel stay or extra fuel expenses. Trip insurance can be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen occurs. Ask the property owner for details.
- Many management companies and vacation rental houses supply Currituck area travel guides which often include money-saving offers, either offered directly by local companies, or by way of a partnership between the rental management company and the business itself. You can also find visitors guide and coupon books at local gas stations and shopping centers.
How to choose the perfect rental in the Currituck area:
- Choose your vacation dates and maximum budget.
- Decide how many beds and what type of bedroom configuration you need. Welcome to Nauti Nay-bors! Magnificent Newer Home *Ocean Views *Pool *Hot-tub has 6 bedrooms and 6 bathrooms.
- Specific descriptions of bedrooms and bed counts & types is usually accessible on booking pages. If not, reach out to the property owner before you book the rental. Remember that most properties list the maximum guest capacity, which often includes pull out couches in living rooms. You'll need to establish what configuration is suitable for your trip.
- Is your group looking for specific amenities? Most rental websites include search filters with amenity lists. Filtering by amenity will allow you to quickly find the perfect rental home.
- Proper accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for guests with disabilities. .
- Traveling with pets? Although a number of vacation homes allow pets or animals, guidelines and costs vary per property. Allowable pet type, breed, and size are often limited. Make sure to ask before booking, and study your rental agreement! Additional fees or applied to your invoice.
More tips for your stay:
- Be sure you get the property manager's phone number and entry/exit procedures for your rental.
- To make certain damages are not attributed to your visit, inspect for any problem areas when you arrive. Call the host right away to report your findings. If there is a dispute, having the recorded concerns and contact attempts will be helpful.
- Property managers are available to help! Feel free to ask any questions before, during, or after your stay.
- Respect your neighbors. Often times, surrounding homes are occupied by permanent residents. Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking policies reduces conflict and allows everyone to enjoy their day.
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Local residents can usually help. Who better to ask where to spend a rainy day, have a great night out, or the best spots for bird watching?
- Protect the rental owner (and your things!) by locking the rental when you are gone, just like you would back home.
- On check-out day, complete a final walk-through to confirm you have not forget any personal items. Check garages, decks, and cabinets for hidden belongings. Clean out the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Inspect the rental one final time and scan for damages to contents or the property itself. We recommend inspecting the property with the property manager whenever you can. If the property manager is not available, remember to take photos and video of the rental to record its condition at check-out.
- Did your family have a fantastic time? Many rental management companies make it easy for customers to provide reviews. If your rental and/or host was great, they always love to hear your praise. If anything was defective and they failed to fix it reasonably, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make a note as part of your review.
