Strategies to get the perfect rental home experience:

When to book a Currituck rental home & When to go:

  • Reserve your rental as soon as possible. Rental schedules often become available a year in advance (or in September just after Summer ends). Many families book their Summer rental homes during Christmas and Thanksgiving gatherings. Book before these holidays for best selection.
  • Summer is the most expensive season in coastal NC. To find the best rental within budget, we suggest reserving in the Fall or Spring. You'll benefit from lower rental rates, greater selection, beautiful weather and the absence of large crowds at Currituck restaurants, tours, and activities. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a Currituck vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday on the coast? Thanksgiving and Christmas are great times to gather with family and friends at your favorite beach.
  • Veterans and Active Duty Military members may qualify for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective vacation rental company or host whether your vacationing group qualifies for a special rate.
  • Management companies and individual rental owners typically offer their guests an option to obtain vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which will generally cost between 1% - 5% of the base booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for days missed as a result of personal medical-related issues or weather, as well as hurricane evacuation costs, such as an unexpected hotel stay or extra gas expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a welcome relief if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your property manager for more information.
  • Find a copy of your local Currituck visitors guide when you check-in. If your rental property doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local shops and visitor centers. In addition to great articles, visitors guide magazines contain coupons for local restaurants, attractions, and tours.

How to choose and book the perfectrental:

  • Start by choosing vacation dates and a budget.
  • Determine how many bedrooms and the bed configuration your group requires. V1252- A Real Beauty! 6 Bedrooms (3 masters), Hot Tub, 2 Com Pools, Foosball! has 6 bedrooms and 6 bathrooms.
  • Precise details about bedrooms and bed counts is generally accessible on booking websites. If not, call the property owner before you book the home. Remember that most properties list the max. guest capacity, which oftentimes includes pull-out couches. You'll need to work out what bed configuration is right for your group.
  • If your family is bringing pets, you must reserve a rental that allows animals. Make sure to ask for details on breed, size, and type requirements. Some property managers require additional pet deposits and fees.
  • If there's a specific Currituck attraction you love, keep an eye out for properties that are either near by, or those that cater especially to your requirements.
  • Suitable accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for guests with disabilities. Make certain to ask about wheel chair entry, pool lifts and specialized equipment needs.

Some things to know before you go:

  • Review arrival and departure procedures before leaving home. Save the directions to your phone, and take a printed copy.
  • Ask questions. You may need instructions for a hot tub, intercom or WIFI setup. Contact your owner. They are there to help! A brief text message prevents a lot of problems.
  • Lock your rental property while you are out! Don't let crooks spoil your vacation.
  • Upon check-in, note any damages to the property and immediately contact the host. Record all correspondence just in case a dispute arises.
  • Respecting quiet hours and parking policies can make a stay significantly more pleasurable. Be a good neighbor. You'll magnify your chance to make local friends, and resident neighbors are a great source for finding the best local beaches and hangouts.
  • Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Residents can often help. Who better to ask where to find the best bike paths, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for shopping?
  • When it's time to leave, take a final walk-through to confirm you did not forget anything. Re-check bathrooms, garages, and back yards for hidden treasure. Clean the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Inspect the property one final time and keep an eye out for damage. We advise inspecting the property with the host whenever you can. If the property manager is not available, take photos of the property to record its condition at check-out.
  • Did your family have a wonderful time? Many rental websites make it easy for travelers to provide feedback. If your rental and/or property manager was great, they would love to hear it. If anything was out of order and they failed to fix it within reason, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make it a point as part of your comments.
