Currituck rental home tips:
Sticking to a spending budget:
- Summer months are high season in Corolla. To find the largest rental for your budget, we highly recommend reserving in the Fall or Spring shoulder seasons. You'll benefit from lower rental rates, greater selection, warm weather and the absence of giant crowds at your favorite Currituck restaurants and activities. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a Currituck vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday vacation near the ocean? Christmas, Thanksgiving, and New Years Eve are great times to gather with loved ones at your favorite beach.
- In the Currituck area, The earlier your group can reserve a vacation home, the easier your search will be. The most desirable rental properties are booked early. Reserving your vacation home up to twelve months before your travel dates is recommended. Christmas, Thanksgiving and New Years Eve are excellent times to search for and book your vacation rental.
- Owners sometimes offer discounts for veterans. Remember to ask your property manager if special offers are available for your group.
- Property management companies usually offer guests an option to purchase vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which usually costs 1% - 5% of the booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for missed vacation time as a result of medical-related issues or weather disasters, as well as hurricane evacuation costs or charges, such as an unanticipated hotel overnight or additional gas expenses. Trip insurance might be a a bank account-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask your property manager for more information.
- Many management companies and vacation rental houses supply Currituck area visitor guide magazines which often include money-saving offers, either offered directly by local companies, or by way of a relationship with the rental management company and the business itself. You can also find Currituck visitors guide magazine and coupon books at local shops and grocery stores.
How to select the best rental home:
- Start by choosing vacation dates and a max budget.
- Determine how many bedrooms and what type of bedroom configuration you need. Amen Corner: Elevator, Private Pool, Hot Tub, 5 Masters has 6 bedrooms and 7 bathrooms.
- Specific information regarding bedrooms and bed counts & types is normally accessible on booking websites. Otherwise, email or call the property manager before you reserve the vacation home. Remember that most properties list the maximum guest capacity, which usually includes sofa beds in living rooms.
- If there's a particular Currituck beach you are crazy about, look for homes that are either near by, or those that cater to your needs.
- Proper accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for persons with a disability. Confirm all necessary amenities are available and included before reserving a rental.
- If your family is traveling with pets, search for a pet-friendly vacation rental. Request specifics on breed, size, and type requirements. Note that some property owners require additional pet deposits and fees.
More considerations for your visit:
- Take a copy of the property manager's phone number and check in/check out procedures for your .
- Record any damages to the rental upon arrival, and immediately contact the host. We especially recommend texts and e-mails, as they usually contain built-in time stamps that can be beneficial if a dispute arises.
- Ask questions. You may need instructions for a garage door opener, elevator or coffee maker. Contact your property manager. They are there to help! A brief phone call can prevent many difficulties.
- Respecting quiet hours and parking regulations can make a stay significantly more pleasurable. Be a good neighbor. You'll magnify your chance to make some new local friends, and resident neighbors are often an excellent resource to find the best local spots.
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Locals can typically help. Who better to ask where to charter a fishing boat, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for BBQ?
- Lock your vacation home while you are out and about. Protect your property!
- Don't leave anything behind! Just before departing, take a walk through the rental to make sure you've collected all belongings. Remember to check bathrooms, garages, and back yards for hidden treasure. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Inspect the property a final time and look for any damage. We suggest inspecting the property with the host whenever possible. If the manager isn't available, take video of the rental to record its condition.
- After your trip, leave a review! Hosts rely on excellent reviews to inspire new bookings. They'll be much obliged for your review. Alternatively, if something went wrong, other families will appreciate that you share your feedback and help them have the best future vacation. Remember to be objective. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the host had any control over the issue, and if so, whether they responded quickly to fix it.
