Finding the best Corolla rental home experience:
How to get the best rental value:
- Booking in Fall or Spring is our favorite way to save money on your rental home. Rates are lower, and you'll find a larger selection of suitable homes. Many vacationers use this strategy to find larger homes within budget, or to book an oceanfront vacation rental that would otherwise be unaffordable during the high season.
- Book your vacation home as soon as possible. Rental schedules often open 12 months in advance (or in September just after the Summer season ends). Many families reserve their Summer rentals during Thanksgiving and Christmas get-togethers. Book before these holidays for best selection.
- Some owners offer rate reductions for active duty military and veterans. Remember to ask your host or property manager if special discounts are available for your family before you book.
- Booking websites often offer their guests an option to add vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which will generally cost between 1% - 5% of the booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any missed days as a result of medical-related catastrophes or weather disasters, as well as hurricane evacuation costs or charges, such as an unanticipated hotel stay or additional gas expenses. Trip insurance might be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen occurs. Ask the property owner for specifics.
- Often, management companies supply Currituck area visitor guides which include coupons, either offered independently by local businesses, or through a relationship between the property management company and the business itself. You can also find Currituck area magazine and coupon books at local shops and grocery stores.
Make a plan and pick yourrental home:
- Select a group lead, select your trip dates, and choose a budget.
- Determine how many bedrooms and the configuration your family requires. Oceanside\/Sleeps 13\/Pool\/Hot Tub\/Rec Room\/Wifi\/Non-Family Groups has 5 bedrooms and 6 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our vacation rental search.
- Precise descriptions of bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is commonly available on booking pages. If they are not listed, email the property management company before you book your home. Note that most property listings specify the max. guest capacity, which oftentimes includes sofa beds.
- Does your group require special amenities? Most rental search websites include amenity lists and search filters. Use these filters to your advantage to find the perfect rental home.
- Proper accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for persons with disabilities. .
- Some properties allow pets, and some don't. Allowable types of family pet, size and breeds may be restricted, and additional fees may apply. Ask your host about your furry family members before booking.
Advice for a smooth stay:
- We recommend storing the manager's information in your smartphone and wallet.
- Document any damages to the property during check in, and immediately contact the owner. We specifically recommend texts and e-mails, as they usually contain built-in time stamps that are very helpful if damages are attributed to your stay.
- Property managers are available to help! Feel free to ask any questions during your stay.
- Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like disrespectful visitors bothering your home life. Employ the golden rule for best judgement. Happy residents may even recommend great local food and scenic spots you would've not otherwise known!
- Don't forget to... Ask a local! Locals can usually point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to get the best seafood, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for shopping?
- Protect the rental owner (and your things!) by locking and securing the home when you are away, just like you would back home.
- Just prior to departing, take a walk-through to make sure you didn't forget anything. Remember to check dressers, closets, and bathrooms for hidden items. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Go through the property one final time and keep an eye out for damages to contents or the property itself. We recommend inspecting the property with the property manager whenever possible. If the manager isn't available, remember to take photos and video of the property to record its condition.
- Did your group have a terrific stay? Most vacation rental websites make it easy for guests to provide reviews. If your rental and/or property manager was great, they will likely appreciate your kind words. If anything was imperfect and they failed to fix it within reason, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make a note as part of your review.
