Tricks and tips for getting the best vacation home experience:

When to book & When to go:

  • Summer time is high season in Corolla. Booking in Fall or Spring months is a good way to save on your vacation. Rates are lower, and you'll find a better selection of acceptable properties.
  • The sooner you can book a rental home, the better your selection will be. The most desirable vacation rentals are reserved early. Reserving your rental property six to twelve months before your vacation dates is recommended. Christmas, Thanksgiving and New Years Eve are excellent times to search for and book your rental property.
  • Veterans and Active Duty Military members may be qualified for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective host whether your group qualifies for a price reduction or discount.
  • Management companies and individual rental owners typically offer their guests an option to add vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which normally will cost you 1% - 5% of the base stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any missed days as a result of medical-related issues or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional evacuation costs, such as an unanticipated hotel stay or extra gasoline expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a life-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your host for specifics.
  • Look for your local visitors guide upon checking in. If your rental property doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local shops and fuel stations. In addition to great local stories, travel guide magazines have money saving offers on nearby restaurants, attractions, and tours.

Selecting and booking the right Currituck vacation home:

  • Start by having your family select date ranges and a spending budget.
  • Note the number bedrooms and the configuration your group needs. Plum Paws: Pool
  • Specific information regarding bedrooms and bed counts & types is normally accessible on booking pages. If you don't see them listed, reach out to the property manager before you reserve the home. Note that most property listings specify maximum guest capacity, which typically includes pull-out couches. You'll need to determine what is optimal for your vacation family.
  • Are you looking for unique amenities? Most rental search websites include search filters with amenity lists. Amenity filters help you quickly remove less-optimal properties.
  • Appropriate accessibility can make or break a vacation for persons with a disability. Make certain to ask about wheel chair entry, pool lifts and specialized equipment needs.
  • If your group is traveling with pets, you will need a rental that allows animals. Make sure to ask for information on breed, weight, and type requirements. Note that some hosts charge additional pet fees.

Know before you go:

  • Take a copy of the host's phone number and entry/exit procedures for your rental home. Store the manager's contact information in your smartphone.
  • During check-in, record any damages to the rental property and immediately contact the owner. Record all coorespondence.
  • Ask questions. You may need instructions for a hot tub, elevator or washer/dryer. Contact your host. They are there to help! A brief phone call can prevent a lot of problems.
  • Respecting quiet hours and parking regulations can make a stay significantly more pleasurable. You'll magnify your chance to make some new local friends, and resident neighbors are a terrific resource to find the best local attractions.
  • Don't forget to... Ask a local! Local residents can often help. Who better to ask where to charter a fishing boat, have a great night out, or the best spots for bird watching?
  • Lock your rental while you're away. Keep your property safe!
  • Just before checking out, take a walk-through to make sure you didn't forget anything. Re-check bathrooms, garages, and back yards for hidden treasure. Clean the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Go through the property a final time and keep an eye out for any damage. We suggest walking through with the property manager whenever you can (often this isn't possible). If the property manager is not available, ensure that you take photos of the rental to record its condition at check-out.
  • Remember to leave a review! Property owners rely on good feedback to inspire more bookings. They'll be much obliged for your feedback. Alternatively, if something wasn't right, other vacationing families will be thankful you shared your experience and help them have the best future vacation. Please be objective. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the owner could control the issue, and if so, whether they responded reasonably to remedy it.
