Tips and Tricks to get the perfect vacation home experience:
Finding your perfect vacation home:
- Summer time is high season in Corolla. To book the largest rental for your budget, we highly recommend booking in the Fall or Spring. You'll benefit from lower rental rates, greater selection, warm weather and the absence of giant crowds at local restaurants, tours, and activities.
- The sooner you can book a rental home, the easier your search will be. The most desirable properties are reserved early. Booking your vacation property up to 12 months before your travel dates is recommended. Winter holidays are excellent times to search for and reserve your rental.
- Veterans and Active Duty Military members may be qualified for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective vacation rental company or host whether your family qualifies for a price reduction.
- Property management companies often offer renters an option to obtain vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which commonly costs between 1% - 5% of the base stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any missed time as a result of medical-related issues or weather, as well as evacuation costs, such as an unanticipated hotel overnight or extra gas expenses. Trip insurance can be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen occurs. Ask the property owner for additional information.
- Find a copy of your local Currituck visitors guide magazine upon arrival. If your rental property doesn't have one, you can find them at local grocery stores and visitor centers. In addition to great information, travel guides contain money saving offers on nearby tours and attractions.
How to choose the best rental home in the Currituck area:
- Choose a designated group leader, select your trip dates, and select a spending budget.
- Determine how many bedrooms and the configuration your group requires. 2025 UPDATES! 2 min walk to beach. Private Heated Pool. Hot Tub. Pet Friendly. has 6 bedrooms and 5 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our rentals search.
- Specific descriptions of bedrooms and bed counts is regularly available on booking websites. If not, email or call the property owner before reserving the vacation property. Remember that most listings specify the max. guest capacity, which often includes pull out couches in living rooms.
- Looking for special amenities? Most websites include search filters for amenities. Use these filters to your advantage to find the perfect rental home.
- Appropriate accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for persons with disabilities. Make certain to ask about specialized equipment and wheel chair accessibility.
- Traveling with pets? Many vacation homes allow animals, but guidelines and restrictions apply. Allowable pet type, breed, and size are often limited. Remember to ask the property manager before booking, and study your rental agreement! Additional fees or might be applied to your contract.
More considerations for your visit:
- Be sure you get the host's contact number and arrival/departure procedures for your rental property. Store the host's information in your smartphone and wallet.
- At Check-in, make note of any damages to the property and immediately alert the property manager. Keep records of all correspondence just in case a dispute arises.
- Ask questions. You may need instructions for a hot tub, A/V setup or coffee maker. Contact your owner. They are there to help! A brief phone call prevents quite a few issues.
- Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like disagreeable vacationers disrupting your peaceful home. Practice the golden rule for common sense. Happy residents may even recommend great local food and attractions you would have never otherwise known!
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Locals can usually point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to take kids for a treat, have a great night out, or the best spots for BBQ?
- Ensure you protect the rental owner (and your stuff!) by locking the rental when you are out, just like you would back home.
- Re-check every room of the property to confirm that you've packed everything at check-out. Check garages, decks, and cabinets for hidden treasure. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Please make sure to walk through the property a final time and look for damage. We advise walking through with the host whenever you can. If the host isn't available, ensure that you take photographs of the rental to record its condition at check-out.
- Did your group have a fantastic stay? Most rental management companies make it easy for vacationers to provide feedback. If your rental property and/or property manager was great, they would love to hear about it. If anything was defective and they failed to address it reasonably, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make a note as part of your review.
