Getting the best Corolla vacation home experience:

When to reserve a Currituck rental home & When to go:

  • June, July, and August are the most expensive months in Corolla. Reserving a rental home in the Spring or Fall is our favorite way to save money on your rental home. Rental rates are lower, and you'll find a larger selection of acceptable properties. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a Currituck vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday on the coast? Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years are great times to gather with loved ones at your favorite beach.
  • The earlier your group can reserve a home, the better your selection will be. The most desirable rental homes are reserved very early. Booking your vacation home up to twelve months before your travel dates is recommended. Winter holidays are excellent times to search for and reserve your vacation home.
  • Property management companies sometimes offer promotional rates for active duty military and veterans. Make sure to check with your property manager to see if discounts are available for your group before you book.
  • Management companies and individual rental owners usually offer their guests an option to buy trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which will generally cost between 1% - 5% of the booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for days missed as a result of personal medical-related issues or weather disasters, as well as evacuation costs, such as an unanticipated hotel overnight or extra gasoline expenses. Trip insurance can be a a bank account-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your property manager for additional information.
  • Look for your local Currituck visitors guide magazine when you arrive at the rental property. If your rental home doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local shops and visitor centers. In addition to great information, visitor guides contain deals for nearby tours and attractions.

Planning, selecting, and booking a perfectrental home:

  • Start by having your group agree to a vacation week and a max budget.
  • Decide how many beds and the bed configuration your family needs. Pet-friendly oceanside Corolla home w\/ pool and hot tub! has 6 bedrooms and 5 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our Currituck rentals search.
  • Specific information about bedrooms and bed types is often available on booking websites. If not, call the property owner before reserving the vacation home. Note that most properties list the max. guest capacity, which oftentimes includes sofa beds and bunks. You'll need to establish what is optimal for your vacation.
  • If there's an individual Currituck beach you long to visit, browse homes that are either close by, or those that cater especially to your requirements.
  • Appropriate accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for the less-mobile. Confirm all necessary amenities are available before reserving a rental
  • Traveling with pets? Although a number of vacation homes allow pets or animals, guidelines and costs vary per property. Type of pet, size and breeds may be limited. Make sure to ask before booking, and study your agreement thoroughly! Extra fees or charges applied to your invoice.

Considerations for your stay:

  • Store the owner's information in your smartphone and wallet.
  • To ensure that no damages are linked to your visit, note any problem areas during check in. Get in touch with the property manager immediately to relay any damages. If there is a dispute about legal responsibility later, having the recorded issues and contact attempts will be helpful.
  • Property managers are available to help! Don't be shy to ask any questions before, during, or after your stay.
  • Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking policies can make a stay more pleasurable. You'll enhance your chance to make local friends, and resident neighbors can be a terrific source for finding the best local restaurants, beaches, and hangouts.
  • Don't forget to... Ask a local! Neighbors can frequently help. Who better to ask where to rent beach equipment, have a great night out, or the best spots for BBQ?
  • Protect the rental owner (and your things!) by locking the property when you are away, just like you would back home.
  • Re-check every room of the rental property to make sure that you've packed all personal items on check-out day. Check dressers, closets, and bathrooms for hidden belongings. Clean out the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
  • Go through the property a final time and keep an eye out for damages to contents or the property itself. We suggest inspecting the property with the host whenever you can (often this isn't possible). If the property manager is not available, take photographs of the property to record its condition at check-out.
  • Did your family have a fantastic vacation? Most rental managers make it easy for guests to provide reviews. If your rental property and/or property manager was fantastic, they would love to hear about it. If anything was out of order and they failed to address it reasonably, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make it a point as part of your comments.
