Corolla vacation rental home tips and tricks:
Find your best deal:
- Book your rental as early as possible. Rental schedules generally become available twelve months in advance (or in September just after the Summer season ends). Many families book their Summer rental homes during Christmas and Thanksgiving gatherings. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
- Summertime is the most expensive season in Corolla. To find the most suitable rental within budget, we suggest reserving in the Fall or Spring. You'll enjoy lower rates, better selection, warm weather and the absence of large crowds at the beach and popular Currituck attractions. Many vacationers use this strategy to find larger homes within budget, or to book a beach front vacation rental that would otherwise be unavailable or unaffordable during the high season.
- Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may be qualified for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property manager or host if your group qualifies for a discount.
- Property management companies often offer customers an option to buy vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which will generally cost between 1% - 5% of the base stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for missed days as a result of medical-related catastrophes or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional evacuation costs, such as an unexpected hotel stay or additional gasoline expenses. Trip insurance might be a a life-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask your property manager for additional information.
- Find a copy of your local Currituck area magazine upon arrival. If your rental home doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers. In addition to great articles, travel guides have coupons for local tours, shops, and attractions.
Finding the best rental home in Corolla:
- Begin by selecting a vacation week and a budget.
- Note the number beds and the bed configuration you need. Private Semi-Oceanfront Retreat w\/ Pool & Spa has 6 bedrooms and 5 bathrooms.
- Specific information about bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is often accessible on booking pages. Otherwise, email the host before you reserve the home. Remember that most properties list the maximum guest capacity, which usually includes sofa beds. You will need to work out what configuration is best for your trip.
- Are you traveling with furry, four-legged family members? Many vacation homes allow animals, but guidelines and restrictions apply. Allowable pet type, breed, and size are often limited. Ask your host before booking, and study your agreement thoroughly! Extra fees or charges might be applied to your contract.
- Visiting for a specific event? Try a map search to locate nearby rentals.
- Suitable accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for the less-mobile. .
More considerations for your visit:
- Take a copy of the property manager's phone number and entry/exit procedures for your .
- Ask questions. You may want instructions for a fireplace, stereo or washer/dryer. Contact your owner. They are there to help! A brief telephone call can prevent a lot of concerns.
- Ensure you protect the owner (and your stuff!) by locking the rental when you are out, just like you would back home.
- Upon check-in, document any damages to the property and immediately contact the host. Keep records of all correspondence in case a dispute arises.
- Respecting quiet hours and parking policies can make a stay more pleasurable. Be a good neighbor. You'll increase your chance to make some new local friends, and resident neighbors can be a fantastic resource to find the best local beaches and restaurants.
- Don't forget to... Ask a local! Local residents can frequently help. Who better to ask where to find the best bike paths, have a great night out, or the best spots for BBQ?
- Just prior to departing, take a final walk-through to make sure you haven't leave anything behind. Check bathrooms, dressers, and closets for hidden treasure. Clean the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Document the condition of the property at check-out. We recommend taking a video during your final walk-through.
- Did your group have a wonderful time? Many rental management companies make it easy for customers to provide reviews. If your property and/or property manager was wonderful, they would love to hear about it. If anything was out of order and they failed to correct it reasonably, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make it a point as part of your feedback.
