Welcome to Puppy Appreciate, a striking, cavernous, well-appointed, and lovingly maintained home in the beautiful ocean-to-sound resort community of The Villages at Ocean Hill. Puppy Adore is 3000 sq. ft. of comfort with dual zone, Trane heat pumps and a top-rated REME HALO air purification system.

The interior offers both ample room to gather and private retreats. The enormous, professionally landscaped 16,000 sq. ft. lot is exceptional with soft Bermuda grass, crepe myrtles, flowers, ornamental grasses, lush Hollywood and Sea Green Junipers, and a groomed 7-foot privacy hedge – an incredibly handsome and relaxing getaway. Located on a peaceful cul-de-sac, Puppy Appreciate offers pretty, unobstructed vistas of Currituck Light throughout -- "far better than photos show," according to one guest -- and is ideally located to appreciate the lighthouse's July 4th fireworks display. Unwind on the covered decks and wraparound porch or relax in your own south-facing private pool and hot tub. Refreshing ocean breezes, glorious sunrises and sunsets, and the sound of waves crashing on the shore, memories for a lifetime.

When it's time for fun, Puppy Adore is less than a 2-min. drive to the community's private beach and oceanfront pool complex with ample parking; and only a 2-min. walk to the exercise center; tennis, pickleball, and basketball courts; playground; sound-side pool complex; and 15-acre Crystal Lake.

Puppy Appreciate is also adjacent to a trendy ropes course overlooking Currituck Sound and under a mile to the 965-acre Currituck Banks Reserve habitat with its breathtaking sound overlook; the pristine off-road northern beaches (home to the legendary Corolla wild horses); Currituck Lighthouse and its summer concerts, wine tastings, and art shows; the historic Whalehead Club; the Center for Wildlife Education; the new Maritime Museum; the Wild Horse Museum; Quaint Corolla Village with its impressive eateries and stores; a rustic coffee shop by day/beer garden by nighttime with live entertainment; an old-fashioned ice cream shoppe, eateries, a bakery, convenience store, gas station, and so much more. Not far down Rt. 12, is a Food Lion and Harris Teeter; putt-putt; bumper boats; and a variety of stores, eateries, and recreational activities. It's all here for you to savor.

Tricks and tips to get the optimal Currituck rental home experience:

When to reserve a Currituck rental home & When to go:

  • June, July, and August are the most expensive months along the coast of NC. To get the best vacation home within budget, we recommend booking in Fall or Spring months. You'll benefit from lower rental rates, greater selection, beautiful weather and the absence of large crowds at the beach and popular Currituck attractions. Many vacationers use this method to reserve larger homes, or to book a beach front vacation rental that would otherwise be unavailable during the high season.
  • The earlier your group can book a vacation home, the better your selection will be. The best vacation homes are reserved early. Reserving your vacation property six to twelve months before your vacation dates is recommended. Holiday gatherings are excellent times to plan and book your rental home.
  • Hosts and Property managers sometimes offer discounts for active duty military and veterans. Remember to ask your property manager if special discounts are available for your family before you book.
  • Booking websites typically offer their guests an option to obtain vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which costs anywhere between 1% - 5% of the booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for days missed as a result of personal medical-related catastrophes or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation costs, such as an unanticipated hotel overnight or extra fuel expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a bank account-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask the property owner for program terms and fees.
  • Look for your local Currituck area magazine when you arrive at the rental property. If your rental home doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local shops and visitor centers. In addition to great local information, visitors guides have discounts for local tours, shops, and attractions.

Make a plan and pick the perfectvacation home:

  • First and foremost, have your family commit to vacation dates and a spending budget.
  • Determine how many bedrooms and what type of bedroom configuration you need. C5001 Puppy Love. Dogs Welcome! Pool\/Hot Tub, Nearby Amenities & Lighthouse! has 6 bedrooms and 5 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our rental home search.
  • Specific descriptions of bedrooms and bed types is generally available on booking pages. If you don't see them listed, reach out to the host before you book the vacation home. Note that most properties list maximum guest capacity, which typically includes pull out couches in living rooms.
  • Looking for specific amenities? Most rental search websites include amenity lists and search filters. Amenity filters help you quickly remove less-optimal properties.
  • Proper accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for persons with disabilities. Remember to confirm all required amenities are available and included before reserving a rental
  • If your family is vacationing with pets, search for a pet-friendly rental. Ask for details on breed, weight, and type requirements. Be aware that some hosts require additional pet deposits and fees.

During your stay:

  • Add the property manager's phone number to your phone. Print and take a copy of arrival/departure procedures.
  • Record any damages to the rental during check in, and immediately contact the host. We specifically recommend texts and e-mails, as they usually contain time stamps that are helpful if damages are assessed.
  • Hosts are available to help! Don't be shy to ask questions during your stay.
  • Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like disrespectful vacationers bothering your quiet neighborhood. Use the golden rule for best judgement. If they like you, locals might even recommend great beaches and scenic spots you would have not otherwise known!
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Residents can typically help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to grab the best tacos, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for crabbing?
  • Ensure you protect the property owner (and your things!) by keeping the rental locked up while you are away, just like you would back home.
  • Re-check the rental property to make sure that you've packed everything at check-out. Make sure to check dressers, closets, and bathrooms for hidden treasure. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Go through the property one final time and scan for any damage. We suggest walking through with the property manager whenever you can (often this isn't possible). If the manager isn't available, take video of the property to record its condition.
  • Did your group have a fantastic stay? Many rental management companies make it easy for clients to provide reviews. If your property and/or host was terrific, they would love to hear about it. If anything was out of order and they failed to fix it reasonably, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make a note as part of your feedback.
