How to book the best Currituck rental home experience:
Sticking to your spending plan:
- Booking a rental in Fall or Spring months is a good way to save money on your vacation. Rental rates are lower, and you'll find a better selection of desirable properties. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a Currituck vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday vacation on the coast? Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years are great times to gather with loved ones at your favorite beach.
- In the Currituck area, The earlier you can book a vacation home, the easier your search will be. The best vacation rentals are reserved very early. Reserving your rental property six - twelve months before your vacation dates is recommended. Holidays such as Christmas and Thanksgiving are excellent times to search for and reserve your rental property.
- Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may qualify for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property owner or host if your vacationing group qualifies for a special rate.
- Management companies and individual rental owners usually offer customers an option to purchase vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which generally will cost 1% - 5% of the stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any missed days as a result of personal medical-related emergencies or weather disasters, as well as evacuation costs or charges, such as an unexpected hotel stay or additional gas expenses. Trip insurance can be a a life-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your host for additional information.
- Many property management companies supply Currituck area visitor guide magazines which will include coupons, either offered independently by local businesses, or by way of a relationship between the management company and the business itself. You can also find Currituck visitors guide and coupon books at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers.
Use filters to narrow your rental search:
- Start by having your family decide on trip dates and a maximum budget.
- Decide how many beds and the configuration your group needs. Starboard Home: Semi-Oceanfront, Pool, Hot Tub has 6 bedrooms and 6 bathrooms.
- Specific descriptions of bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is almost always accessible online. If you don't see them listed, reach out to the property manager before booking your rental. Note that most property listings specify the maximum guest capacity, which frequently includes sofa beds in living rooms. You will need to establish what is optimal for your trip.
- Are you looking for unique amenities? Most websites include amenity lists and search filters.
- Proper accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for those with limited mobility. .
- Some rental properties allow pets, and some do not. Allowable types of dog or cat, weight and breeds may be restricted, and additional costs may apply. Ask the property management company about allowable breeds and types before booking.
More considerations for your visit:
- Get the host's phone number and entry/exit procedures for your rental home.
- Note any issues with the property upon arrival, and immediately contact the property manager. We especially recommend texts and e-mails, as they usually contain built-in time stamps that are valuable if a dispute arises.
- Property managers are there to help! Don't be shy to ask any questions before, during, or after your stay.
- Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like disagreeable visitors disrupting your peaceful home life. Practice the golden rule for best judgement. If they like you, locals might even recommend great restaurants and scenic spots you would have never otherwise known about!
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Locals can frequently point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to find the best bike paths, have a great night out, or the best spots for shopping?
- Keep the property locked while you're out! Don't let crooks spoil your holiday.
- On check-out day, complete a final walk-through to make sure you have not forget anything. Re-check garages, decks, and cabinets for hidden belongings. Clean out the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Record a video to document the condition of the property.
- Did your family have a excellent stay? Many vacation rental websites make it easy for travelers to provide comments. If your rental and/or host was terrific, they would love to hear about it. If anything was imperfect and they failed to correct it reasonably, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make a note as part of your review.
