Our top Carova rental home tips:
When to visit Carova & When to reserve a Currituck rental home:
- Summer months are high season in the Currituck area. Book your Currituck vacation in the Fall or Spring to enjoy beautiful weather while saving money and avoiding crowded roads, restaurants, and activities. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a Currituck vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday on the coast? Thanksgiving and Christmas are great times to gather with loved ones at your favorite beach.
- Reserve your vacation home as early as possible. Rental schedules usually become available 12 months in advance (or in September just after Summertime ends). Many groups book their Summer rentals during holiday get-togethers. Book before these holidays for best selection.
- Property managers sometimes offer rate reductions for veterans and active duty military. Remember to ask your property manager if discounts are available for your group before you book.
- Property managers often offer renters an option to buy trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which will generally cost 1% - 5% of the base booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any days missed as a result of personal medical-related catastrophes or weather, as well as ensuing additional evacuation costs, such as an unexpected hotel overnight or additional gas expenses. Trip insurance might be a a life-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your host for specifics.
- Look for your local Currituck visitors guide upon checking in. If your rental home doesn't have one, you can find them at local shops and fuel stations. In addition to great information, visitors guides have money saving offers on local accommodations, restaurants and tours.
Planning, picking, and booking the right Currituck rental home:
- First and foremost, have your family choose dates and a budget.
- Determine how many beds and the bed configuration your family needs. Paradise at Blue Fin! New owners Updated. Heat-able pool! 4x4 required has 6 bedrooms and 5 bathrooms.
- Precise details about bedrooms and bed counts is almost always available on booking pages. If you don't see them listed, email or call the property manager before booking your home. Remember that most listings specify maximum guest capacity, which typically includes sofa beds in living rooms.
- Are you visiting for a specific event? Try a map search to browse nearby rentals.
- Appropriate accessibility can make or break a vacation for guests that require the use of a wheelchair. .
- If your group is vacationing with pets, you'll need to find a pet-friendly property. Ask for details on breed, weight, and type restrictions. Be aware that some property owners charge pet deposits and fees.
During your stay:
- We recommend storing the host's contact information in your smartphone and wallet.
- During check-in, document any issues with the rental property and immediately alert the host. Keep records of all coorespondence.
- Ask questions. You may want instructions for a garage door opener, A/V setup or washer/dryer. Contact your property manager. They are there to help! A brief call prevents many issues.
- Be respectful of your neighbors. Frequently, adjacent homes are occupied by permanent residents. Respecting noise limits and parking regulations can make a stay significantly more pleasurable.
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Neighbors can typically point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to find the best seashells, have a great night out, or the best spots for fishing?
- Keep the property locked while you're away! Don't let burglars spoil your trip.
- Don't leave anything behind! Just before you drive away, walk through the rental property to reconfirm you've collected all belongings. Remember to check bathrooms, dressers, and closets for hidden items. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Go through the rental one final time and look for damages to contents or the property itself. We recommend walking through with the host whenever you can. If the manager is not available, remember to take video of the rental to record its condition at check-out.
- Did you have a excellent vacation? Many rental home management companies make it easy for clients to provide comments. If your rental property and/or property management company was wonderful, they will likely appreciate your kind words. If anything was out of order and they failed to address it in a reasonable manner, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make a note as part of your review.
