How to get the best vacation home experience:
Sticking to your rental home budget:
- To get the best value, try shifting your family's Currituck vacation dates to the Spring or Fall months. May, September, and even October offer pleasant weather, less crowded beaches, and reduced traffic.
- Book your rental as early as possible. Rental schedules usually become available 12 months in advance (or in September just after Summer ends). Many groups book their Summer rental homes during Winter holiday get-togethers. Book before these holidays for best selection.
- Hosts and Property managers sometimes offer discounts for active duty military and veterans. Make sure to check with your property manager to see if special offers are available for your group.
- Property managers usually offer customers an option to obtain trip insurance. Trip insurance, which costs 1% - 5% of the base stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for missed days as a result of personal medical-related issues or weather, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation costs or charges, such as an unexpected hotel or extra fuel expenses. Trip insurance can be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen happens. Ask your host for details.
- Often, rental management companies supply Currituck area travel guide magazines which include coupons, either offered independently by local companies, or through a relationship with the property management company and the business itself. You can also find Currituck area magazine and coupon books at local shops and grocery stores.
Make a plan and pick the perfectrental:
- Begin by selecting your the best vacation week and a spending budget.
- Decide how many bedrooms and the bed configuration your family needs. Octopus's Garden: Large Private Pool & Hot Tub, Walk to Beach has 5 bedrooms and 4 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our Currituck rental home search.
- Precise descriptions of bedrooms and bed counts & types is normally accessible on booking websites. If not, call the property management company before you book the vacation home. Remember that most listings specify the max. guest capacity, which often includes pull-out couches and bunk beds.
- If there's a particular Currituck attraction you are enamored with, browse rentals that are either near by, or those that cater to your needs.
- Proper accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for persons with a disability. Confirm all required amenities are available and included before reserving a rental
- If your group is vacationing with pets, search for a pet-friendly property. Make sure to ask for information on breed, weight, and type restrictions. Often, hosts charge additional pet fees.
Have a great stay:
- Get the owner's phone number and arrival/departure procedures for your .
- During check-in, note any issues with the rental property and immediately contact the host. Record all correspondence just in case a dispute arises.
- Ask questions. You may want instructions for a hot tub, A/V setup or WIFI setup. Contact your owner. They are there to help! A brief call can prevent many difficulties.
- Respecting quiet hours and parking regulations can make a stay significantly more pleasurable. Be a good neighbor. You will enhance your chance to make local friends, and resident neighbors are often a fantastic resource to find the best local beaches and restaurants.
- Don't forget to... Ask a local! Residents can often help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to order delicious takeout, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for BBQ?
- Lock your rental while you are out and about. Protect the owner's property and your things!
- Upon check-out, complete a walk-through to confirm you have not forget anything. Re-check bathrooms, dressers, and closets for hidden treasure. Clean out the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Go through the rental a final time and look for damages to contents or the property itself. We advise inspecting the property with the property manager whenever possible. If the property manager isn't available, ensure that you take video of the property to record its condition at check-out.
- Did you have a great stay? Many rental websites make it easy for vacationers to provide feedback. If your rental property and/or property management company was great, they would love to hear about it. If anything was inoperable and they failed to fix it in a reasonable manner, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make a note as part of your feedback.
