Strategies for getting the best Corolla rental experience:

Get the best value:

  • To get the best value, consider shifting your family's Currituck vacation to the Spring or Fall months. May, September, and October offer warmer temperatures, less crowded beaches, and reduced traffic. Many vacationers use this method to reserve larger homes, or to reserve an oceanfront vacation rental that would otherwise be unavailable or unaffordable during the Summer months. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a Currituck vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday on the coast? Thanksgiving and Christmas are great times to gather with family and friends at your favorite beach.
  • In the Currituck area, The sooner your group can reserve a vacation home, the easier your search will be. The most desirable properties are reserved early. Reserving your vacation home 6-12 months before your vacation dates is recommended. Holiday gatherings are excellent times to search for and reserve your rental.
  • Owners sometimes offer discounts for veterans. Make sure to check with your property manager to see if special offers are available for your family before you book.
  • Booking websites usually offer renters an option to obtain trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which costs between 1% - 5% of the reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for days missed as a result of personal medical-related issues or weather, as well as evacuation costs or charges, such as an unanticipated hotel stay or extra fuel expenses. Trip insurance might be a a life-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask the property owner for additional information.
  • Find a copy of your local visitors guide when you check-in. If your rental property doesn't have one, you can find them at local grocery stores and visitor centers. In addition to great information, travel guide magazines contain coupons for nearby shops and restaurants.

Choosing the best vacation home in the Currituck area:

  • Choose a designated group leader, choose your dates, and select a spending budget.
  • Note the number beds and the configuration your family requires. Beach ParTee Time: Private Pool w\/ Cabana & Hot Tub
  • Precise details about bedrooms and bed counts is regularly accessible on booking websites. Otherwise, contact the host before reserving your rental. Remember that most listings specify maximum guest capacity, which usually includes sofa beds and bunks. You will need to work out what is best for your family.
  • If there's an individual Currituck attraction you crave, keep an eye out for rentals that are either nearby, or those that cater especially to your desires.
  • Appropriate accessibility can make or break a vacation for guests with disabilities. Make certain to inquire about wheel chair entry, pool lifts and specialized equipment needs.
  • Some rental properties allow pets, but some do not. Allowable types of dog or cat, weight and breeds may be restricted, and additional costs may apply. Ask the host about your furry family members before booking.

Some things to know before you go:

  • Store the owner's information in your smartphone.
  • Make a record of any damages to the rental during check in, and immediately contact the owner. We especially recommend texts and e-mails, as they usually contain time stamps that can be valuable if a dispute arises.
  • Ask questions. You may want instructions for a garage door opener, television set or appliance. Contact your host. They are there to help! A brief text message prevents many difficulties.
  • Respecting quiet hours and parking policies can make a stay more pleasurable. You'll magnify your chance to make some new local friends, and resident neighbors are a great source for finding the best local restaurants, beaches, and hangouts.
  • Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Neighbors can typically help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to book the best tours, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for BBQ?
  • Protect the rental owner (and your things!) by locking and securing the home while you are out, just like you would back home.
  • When it's time to leave, complete a final walk-through to make sure you didn't leave anything behind. Remember to check bathrooms, garages, and back yards for hidden treasure. Clean the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Document the condition of the property at check-out. We recommend taking a video during your final walk-through.
  • Did you have a wonderful stay? Most rental home management companies make it easy for clients to provide reviews. If your property and/or host was fantastic, they would love to hear about it. If anything was amiss and they failed to address it reasonably, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make it a point as part of your comments.
