Strategies to get the optimal vacation rental experience:
Get the best value:
- June, July, and August are high season in the Currituck area. Booking your vacation home in Spring or Fall is one of our best tips for saving money on your vacation. Rental rates are lower, and you'll find a larger selection of suitable properties. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a Currituck vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday on the coast? Thanksgiving and Christmas are great times to gather with friends and family at the beach.
- Book your vacation home as soon as possible. Rental schedules often open a year in advance (or in September just after the Summer season ends). Many groups book their Summer vacation rentals during Thanksgiving and Christmas get-togethers. Book before these holidays for best selection.
- Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may qualify for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective vacation rental company or host if your family qualifies for a price reduction.
- Property management companies usually offer renters an option to buy vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which costs between 1% - 5% of the base booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for missed trip time as a result of medical-related catastrophes or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional evacuation costs or charges, such as an unanticipated hotel stay or additional gas expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a welcome relief if the unforeseen happens. Ask your host for program terms and fees.
- Look for your local Currituck area magazine upon checking in. If your rental property doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local shops and visitor centers. In addition to great local stories, visitors guide magazines contain discounts for local attractions, tours, restaurants, and shops.
Selecting the perfect rental home in Corolla:
- Select your vacation dates and budget.
- Determine how many bedrooms and the bed configuration your group requires. Beach ParTee Time: Private Pool w\/ Cabana, Spa has 5 bedrooms and 5 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our rentals search.
- Precise information about bedrooms and bed counts is almost always accessible on booking pages. If not, contact the host before you reserve the vacation property. Note that most property listings specify the max. guest capacity, which frequently includes sofa beds in living rooms. You will need to establish which bed configuration is suitable for your trip.
- If there's a particular Currituck attraction you long to visit, keep an eye out for properties that are either near by, or those that cater to your needs.
- Appropriate accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for persons with a disability. .
- Remember to include your furry companions! Although a number of vacation homes allow pets or animals, guidelines and costs vary per property. Type of pet, size and breeds may be limited. Make sure to ask before booking, and study your agreement thoroughly! Additional pet fees or could be applied to your invoice.
More considerations:
- Store the host's contact information in your smartphone.
- To ensure that damages aren't linked to your visit, make note of any problem areas during check in. Contact the property manager immediately to record any pre-existing damages. If there is a dispute about who is responsible, having a record of problems and contact attempts will be useful.
- Ask questions. You may need instructions for a garage door opener, A/V setup or appliance. Contact your property manager. They are there to help! A brief phone call can prevent lots of difficulties.
- Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking restrictions can make a stay significantly more pleasurable. Be a good neighbor. You will increase your chance to make some new local friends, and resident neighbors are often a terrific resource to find the best local restaurants, beaches, and hangouts.
- Don't forget to... Ask a local! Residents can typically help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to find the best seashells, have a great night out, or the best spots for BBQ?
- Keep your rental home locked while you're gone! Don't let crooks ruin your holiday.
- Don't leave anything behind! Before you drive away, walk through the rental property to make sure you've collected all personal items. Re-check bathrooms, garages, and back yards for hidden items. Clean the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Inspect the rental one final time and scan for any damage. We advise walking through with the host whenever you can. If the host is not available, ensure that you take video and pictures of the rental to record its condition at check-out.
- Did your group have a great stay? Many vacation rental websites make it easy for customers to provide comments. If your rental property and/or property management company was great, they would love to hear it. If anything was defective and they failed to correct it in a reasonable manner, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make a note as part of your feedback.
