How to find the best vacation property experience:

Get the best value:

  • Summer months are high season in Corolla. Reserving a rental home in Spring or Fall is our favorite way to save money on your vacation home. Rates are lower, and you'll find a better selection of suitable properties. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a Currituck vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday near the ocean? Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years are great times to gather with friends and family at the beach.
  • The earlier you can book, the better your selection will be. The most desirable rental properties are booked very early. Reserving your vacation property six to twelve months before your vacation dates is recommended. Holiday gatherings are excellent times to search for and reserve your rental.
  • Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may qualify for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property manager if your vacationing group qualifies for a discount.
  • Management companies and individual rental owners typically offer customers an option to buy trip insurance. Trip insurance, which normally costs 1% - 5% of the base stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for missed vacation time as a result of personal medical-related issues or weather disasters, as well as evacuation costs, such as an unexpected hotel or extra fuel expenses. Trip insurance might be a a bank account-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask the property owner for specifics.
  • Many rental management companies supply Currituck area visitors guides which often include money-saving offers, either offered independently by local businesses, or through a partnership between the rental management company and the business itself. You can also find visitors guide and coupon books at local shops and grocery stores.

Selecting and booking the perfectvacation home:

  • Start by selecting a vacation week and a budget.
  • Determine how many bedrooms and what type of bedroom configuration your group needs. 1363 Dolphin Days * 5 Min Walk to Beach has 5 bedrooms and 5 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our rental home search.
  • Specific descriptions of bedrooms and bed counts & types is generally accessible on booking websites. Otherwise, email or call the property management company before booking the home. Remember that most listings specify the max. guest capacity, which usually includes pull-out couches and bunk beds. You will need to work out what bed configuration is right for your vacation group.
  • If there's a specific Currituck destination you are crazy about, keep an eye out for properties that are either close by, or those that cater especially to your needs.
  • Appropriate accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for persons with disabilities. .
  • Some rentals allow pets, but some don't. Allowable types of family pet, size and breeds may be restricted, and additional costs may apply. Ask the owner about allowable breeds and types before booking.

Additional considerations:

  • We recommend storing the owner's information in your smartphone and wallet.
  • To make sure that no damages are linked to your family's stay, make a record of any problem areas during check in. E-mail the host right away to document any damages. If there is a dispute about who is responsible, having the recorded problems and contact attempts will be valuable.
  • Property managers are there to help! Feel free to ask any questions before, during, or after your stay.
  • Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like loud vacationers bothering your peaceful neighborhood. Use the golden rule for best judgement. If they like you, locals might even recommend great local food and attractions you would've never otherwise known about!
  • Don't forget to... Ask a local! Residents can usually help. Who better to ask where to enjoy a steak with a view, have a great night out, or the best spots for shopping?
  • Protect the property owner (and your things!) by locking the property when you are out, just like you would back home.
  • Don't leave anything behind! Just before departing, take a walk through the property to confirm you've collected everything. Make sure to check closets, dressers, garages, and bathrooms for hidden treasure. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
  • Record a video to document the condition of the property.
  • Did you have a wonderful time? Most rental managers make it easy for customers to provide comments. If your rental and/or property management company was wonderful, they will likely appreciate your kind words. If anything was out of order and they failed to fix it in a reasonable manner, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make it a point as part of your review.
