Tips and Tricks to get the perfect Currituck vacation rental experience:
Finding your perfect rental home:
- To find the largest rental within your budget, we suggest booking in Fall or Spring. You'll enjoy lower rental rates, better selection, gorgeous weather and the absence of large crowds at your favorite Currituck restaurants and activities. Many vacationers use this method to find larger homes within budget, or to reserve an oceanfront vacation rental that would otherwise be unavailable or unaffordable during the high season. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a Currituck vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday near the ocean? Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years are great times to gather with loved ones at the beach.
- In the Currituck area, The earlier you can reserve a home, the easier your search will be. The most desirable vacation homes are booked early. Reserving your rental home up to twelve months before your travel dates is recommended. Christmas, Thanksgiving and New Years Eve are excellent times to search for and reserve your rental.
- Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may be qualified for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective host if your group qualifies for a discount.
- Booking websites often offer customers an option to add vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which normally will cost between 1% - 5% of the base reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for missed vacation time as a result of medical-related issues or weather, as well as evacuation costs or charges, such as an unanticipated hotel stay or additional fuel expenses. Trip insurance might be a a life-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your property manager for more information.
- Many management companies supply Currituck area visitors guides that include money-saving offers, either offered independently by local businesses, or by way of a relationship between the rental management company and the business itself. You can also find Currituck visitors guide magazine and coupon books at local shops and grocery stores.
Make a plan and pick a perfect Currituck rental home:
- Select a group leader, select your vacation week, and select a spending budget.
- Note the number beds and the configuration your group needs. Payson Place: Oceanside, Pool, Golf Discounts, Spa has 5 bedrooms and 5 bathrooms.
- Specific descriptions of bedrooms and bed counts is generally available online. Otherwise, email or call the property manager before reserving the vacation home. Remember that most property listings specify the max. guest capacity, which frequently includes sofa beds and bunks. You'll need to work out what is right for your group.
- If there's a particular Currituck destination you love, browse properties that are either close by, or those that cater especially to your needs.
- Proper accessibility can make or break a vacation for the less-mobile. Confirm all required amenities are included before booking
- If your group is vacationing with pets, filter your search for a pet-friendly rental. Ask for details on breed, size, and type requirements. Usually, hosts require additional pet deposits and fees.
More considerations:
- Review arrival and departure procedures before leaving home. Take a printed copy, and save the instructions to your smartphone.
- Note any issues with the rental at check in, and immediately send them to the host. We especially recommend texts and e-mails, as they usually contain built-in time stamps that are useful if damages are attributed to your stay.
- Ask questions. You may need instructions for a fireplace, television set or WIFI setup. Contact your owner. They are there to help! A brief telephone call can prevent many concerns.
- Respecting quiet hours and parking restrictions can make a stay significantly more pleasurable. You'll magnify your chance to make some new local friends, and resident neighbors are often a fantastic resource to find the best local scenic spots.
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Locals can usually point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to book the best tours, have a great night out, or the best spots for shopping?
- Protect the owner (and your things!) by locking the property when you are away, just like you would at home.
- Don't leave anything behind! Just before departing, walk through the rental to reconfirm you've collected everything. Remember to check closets, dressers, garages, and bathrooms for hidden belongings. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Go through the property one final time and keep an eye out for damage. We recommend inspecting the property with the property manager whenever you can. If the manager is not available, ensure that you take video and pictures of the rental to record its condition.
- Remember to leave feedback! Property owners rely on good ratings to stimulate more reservations. They'll be grateful for your review. Alternatively, if something went awry, other families will be thankful you shared your review and help them have the best future vacation. Be fair with your review. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the host had any control over the issue, and if so, whether they responded expeditiously to solve it.
