Getting the best rental value:

  • Book your rental as early as possible. Rental schedules usually open twelve months in advance (or in September just after the Summer season ends). Many groups reserve their Summer vacation rentals during Thanksgiving and Christmas get-togethers. Book before these holidays for best selection.
  • June, July, and August are the most expensive months in coastal NC. Booking in the Spring or Fall is our favorite way to save money on your vacation home. Rental rates are lower, and you'll find a larger selection of desirable properties. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a Currituck vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday near the ocean? Christmas, Thanksgiving, and New Years Eve are great times to gather with friends and family at your favorite beach.
  • Some property managers offer discounts for veterans. Ask your property manager if special offers are available for your family before you book.
  • Management companies and individual rental owners frequently offer renters an option to obtain trip insurance.   • Go through the property one final time and scan for damage. We advise walking through with the property manager whenever you can. If the manager is not available, take photos and video of the property to record its condition at check-out.
  • Did you have a great time? Many rental management companies make it easy for customers to provide reviews. If your rental and/or host was terrific, they always love to hear your praise. If anything was defective and they failed to fix it in a reasonable manner, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make it a point as part of your review.
