Our top Vacation rental tips:

Getting the most from your rental home budget:

  • Booking your Currituck vacation home in the Fall or Spring is a great way to save money on your vacation rental. Rates are lower, and you'll find a better selection of desirable homes. Many vacationers use this method to reserve larger homes, or to book a beach front rental that would otherwise be unavailable or unaffordable during the Summer.
  • In the Currituck area, The sooner your group can book a rental home, the better your selection will be. The best properties are reserved early. Reserving your rental six - twelve months before your travel dates is recommended. Holiday gatherings are excellent times to plan and reserve your rental home.
  • Owners sometimes offer discounts for active duty military and veterans. Make sure to check with your host or property manager to see if special offers are available for your group.
  • Property management companies frequently offer customers an option to buy vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which generally will cost between 1% - 5% of the reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for days missed as a result of medical-related issues or weather disasters, as well as hurricane evacuation costs or charges, such as an unanticipated hotel or additional gasoline expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a life-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask your property manager for details.
  • Find a copy of your local visitors guide upon arrival. If your rental doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local shops and fuel stations. In addition to great articles, travel guides have money saving offers on nearby tours and attractions.

  • Property managers are there to help! Don't be shy to ask any questions before, during, or after your stay.
  • Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like disagreeable vacationers disrupting your peaceful home. Use the golden rule for best judgement. If they like you, locals might even recommend great beaches and attractions you would have not otherwise known!
  • Don't forget to... Ask a local! Residents can usually help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to book the best tours, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for crabbing?
  • Lock your rental home while you're away. Protect the owner's property and your stuff!
  • Just prior to departing, complete a walk-through to confirm you did not leave anything behind. Check garages, decks, and cabinets for hidden items. Clean the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
  • Go through the property a final time and scan for damage. We recommend inspecting the property with the property manager whenever you can. If the property manager isn't available, ensure that you take photos of the property to record its condition at check-out.
  • After your trip, leave a review! Hosts rely on excellent ratings to propel new reservations. They'll be much obliged for your review. Alternatively, if something wasn't as described, other vacationers will be thankful you shared your experience find their best vacation home.
