Getting the best vacation home experience:

When to visit Corolla & When to reserve a rental home:

  • Summer is high season in the Currituck area. To get the most suitable vacation home for your budget, we recommend booking in Fall or Spring. You'll benefit from lower rates, better selection, gorgeous weather and the absence of large crowds at popular Currituck attractions and restaurants. Many vacationers use this method to reserve larger homes, or to book a beach front vacation rental that would otherwise be unaffordable during the high season.
  • The sooner your group can book a rental home, the easier your search will be. The most desirable vacation rentals are reserved very early. Reserving your rental property up to 12 months before your travel dates is recommended. Winter holidays are excellent times to search for and book your rental property.
  • Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may be qualified for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property manager if your group qualifies for a special promotion or discount.
  • Booking websites typically offer customers an option to obtain trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which commonly costs between 1% - 5% of the base reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for missed days as a result of medical-related catastrophes or weather, as well as ensuing additional evacuation charges, such as an unanticipated hotel stay or additional gasoline expenses. Trip insurance can be a a life-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your host for program terms and fees.
  • Often, management companies supply Currituck area visitor guide magazines which include money-saving deals, either offered directly by local companies, or through a relationship between the rental management company and the business itself. You can also find Currituck visitors guide magazine and coupon books at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers.

Choosing and booking the rightrental:

  • Choose your vacation week and max budget.
  • Decide how many bedrooms and the configuration your family requires. Our Beach Oasis: Pool, Dog-friendly, Close to Beach has 5 bedrooms and 4 bathrooms.
  • Specific descriptions of bedrooms and bed counts & types is usually available online. If they are not listed, email or call the property manager before reserving the rental. Remember that most properties list the max. guest capacity, which often includes pull out couches in living rooms. You'll need to work out what is best for your vacation.
  • If there's a specific Currituck attraction you crave, look for properties that are either near by, or those that cater to your needs.
  • Suitable accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for those with limited mobility. Confirm all necessary amenities are available before reserving a rental.
  • Some properties allow pets, and others do not. Acceptable types of dog or cat, weight and breeds may be restricted, and added costs may apply. Ask the property manager about pet restrictions before booking.

More considerations for your visit:

  • Get the owner's contact number and check in/check out procedures for your rental home. Store the host's information in your smartphone.
  • Upon arrival, note any damages to the property and immediately contact the owner. Keep records of all correspondence just in case a dispute arises.
  • Ask questions. You may want instructions for a fireplace, stereo or thermostat. Contact your owner. They are there to help! A brief telephone call prevents quite a few difficulties.
  • Don't forget to respect your neighbors. Frequently, adjacent homes are occupied by permanent residents. Respecting quiet hours and parking rules reduces conflict and allows everyone to enjoy their day.
  • Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Residents can usually help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to enjoy a steak with a view, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for shopping?
  • Lock your vacation home while you're out. Protect your property!
  • On check-out day, complete a final walk-through to make sure you haven't leave anything behind. Re-check bathrooms, garages, and back yards for hidden items. Clean the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
  • Record a video to document the condition of the property.
  • Remember to leave feedback! Hosts rely on excellent ratings to stimulate future bookings. They'll be much obliged for your review. Alternatively, if something went awry, other families will will be grateful for your experience and help them have the best future vacation. Please be fair with your feedback If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the host could control the issue, and if so, whether they responded expeditiously to remedy it.
