Tips to get the best Currituck vacation property experience:
Getting the best value:
- Reserve your vacation home as early as possible. Rental schedules usually become available twelve months in advance (or in September just after the Summer season ends). Many groups book their Summer rental homes during Thanksgiving and Christmas gatherings. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
- To find the most suitable rental home within budget, we highly recommend reserving in the Fall or Spring shoulder seasons. You'll benefit from lower rental rates, greater selection, beautiful weather and the absence of giant crowds at Currituck restaurants, tours, and activities. Many vacationers use this strategy to reserve larger homes, or to reserve an oceanfront rental that would otherwise be unavailable during June, July, and August. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a Currituck vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday near the ocean? Thanksgiving and Christmas are great times to gather with loved ones at your favorite beach.
- Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may be qualified for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property owner if your family qualifies for a discount.
- Management companies and individual rental owners usually offer renters an option to buy vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which generally will cost anywhere between 1% - 5% of the base reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any missed vacation time as a result of personal medical-related catastrophes or weather, as well as evacuation costs or charges, such as an unexpected hotel or extra fuel expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a bank account-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your property manager for additional information.
- Often, management companies supply Currituck area visitors guides which include special offers, either offered directly by local companies, or by way of a partnership between the rental management company and the business itself. You can also find Currituck visitors guide and coupon books at local shops and grocery stores.
Filter your search:
- Choose a designated group leader, choose your vacation dates, and choose a budget.
- Determine how many beds and the bed configuration your group requires. WH868- Beautiful 5 bedroom, 4.5 bath vacation rental house in Corolla! has 5 bedrooms and 5 bathrooms.
- Precise information regarding bedrooms and bed types is normally available on booking pages. Otherwise, email the host before you book the home. Remember that most listings specify maximum guest capacity, which frequently includes sofa beds. You will need to determine what is best for your vacation group.
- If your group is vacationing with pets, filter your search for a pet-friendly vacation rental. Make sure to ask for details on breed, size, and type requirements. Usually, hosts charge additional pet fees.
- Does your family require particular amenities? Most rental search websites include search filters for amenities. Amenity filters help you quickly remove less-optimal properties.
- Suitable accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for persons with disabilities. Confirm all required amenities are available before booking
Have a wonderful stay:
- Review check in & check out procedures before leaving home. Add a note with the instructions to your smartphone, and take a printed backup.
- Ask questions. You may need instructions for a garage door opener, television set or coffee maker. Contact your property manager. They are there to help! A brief telephone call prevents many issues.
- Lock your vacation home while you are out and about. Protect the owner's property and your stuff!
- Record any issues with the rental at check in, and immediately e-mail them to the host. We specifically recommend texts and e-mails, as they usually contain built-in time stamps that can be helpful if damages are attributed to your stay.
- Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like loud vacationers disrupting your peace and quiet. Apply the golden rule for common sense. If they like you, locals might even recommend great restaurants and attractions you would've not otherwise known!
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Neighbors can frequently point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to spend a rainy day, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for BBQ?
- At departure, complete a final walk-through to confirm you haven't forget anything. Re-check bathrooms, dressers, and closets for hidden treasure. Clean out the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Go through the property one final time and scan for any damage. We recommend inspecting the property with the host whenever possible. If the manager is not available, remember to take photos and video of the rental to record its condition.
- After your trip, leave feedback! Hosts rely on great reviews to drive more reservations. They'll be thankful for your review. Alternatively, if something wasn't right, other vacationers will be thankful you shared your feedback and help them have the best future vacation. Please be objective. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the manager could control the issue, and if so, whether they responded quickly to fix it.
