Tips and Tricks to get the very best rental home experience:
When to book & When to go:
- Book your vacation rental as early as possible. Rental schedules often become available a year in advance (or in September just after Summer ends). Many families reserve their Summer vacation rentals during holiday get-togethers. Book before these holidays for best selection.
- To get the best value, consider shifting your trip dates to the Spring or Fall months. May, September, and October offer excellent temperatures, less crowded beaches, and reduced traffic. Many vacationers use this method to find larger homes within budget, or to reserve an oceanfront rental that would otherwise be unaffordable during the high season.
- Hosts sometimes offer rate reductions for veterans. Remember to ask your host or property manager if discounts are available for your group.
- Property management companies often offer guests an option to purchase trip insurance. Trip insurance, which costs between 1% - 5% of the stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any days missed as a result of personal medical-related emergencies or weather, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation costs, such as an unanticipated hotel stay or additional gas expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a bank account-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask your host for more information.
- Many management companies supply Currituck area visitor guides that include special deals, either offered independently by local businesses, or through a relationship between the management company and the business itself. You can also find Currituck area magazine and coupon books at local shops and grocery stores.
How to select the best vacation rental in the Currituck area:
- Begin by selecting your a vacation week and a spending budget.
- Note the number beds and the bed configuration your family needs. Seadog: Private heated pool, hot tub, rec room with pool table, great community has 5 bedrooms and 6 bathrooms.
- Specific information about bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is generally accessible on booking pages. If not, email the property manager before you reserve the vacation property. Remember that most listings specify maximum guest capacity, which often includes pull out couches in living rooms. You will need to work out what configuration is optimal for your vacation family.
- If your group is bringing pets, filter your search for a pet-friendly property. Get information on breed, weight, and type requirements. Some property managers require additional pet deposits and fees.
- If there's a certain Currituck beach you are enamored with, look for rentals that are either close by, or those that cater especially to your needs.
- Proper accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for the less-mobile. .
More considerations for your visit:
- Review arrival and departure procedures before leaving home. Save the instructions to your smartphone, and take a printed backup.
- Hosts are there to help! Don't be shy to ask any questions during your stay.
- Keep your rental home locked while you are out! Don't let thieves ruin your trip.
- To ensure that damages are not linked to your family's stay, inspect the property for any problem areas upon your arrival. message the property manager right away to relay your findings. If there is a dispute about legal responsibility later, having a record of issues and contact attempts will be helpful.
- Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking regulations can make a stay more pleasurable. Be a good neighbor. You will enhance your chance to make local friends, and resident neighbors are often a fantastic source for finding the best local restaurants, beaches, and hangouts.
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Local residents can usually help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to grab the best tacos, have a great night out, or the best spots for crabbing?
- Double-check every room of the vacation property to make sure that you've packed all of your belongings at departure. Make sure to check closets, dressers, garages, and bathrooms for hidden items. Clean out the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Go through the rental a final time and keep an eye out for any damage. We advise inspecting the property with the property manager whenever you can. If the manager isn't available, remember to take photos and video of the rental to record its condition at check-out.
- After your trip, leave a review! Property owners rely on good reviews to compel new bookings. They'll be much obliged for your review. Alternatively, if something went wrong, other families will will be grateful for your review and help them have the best future vacation. Please be objective. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the owner had any control over the issue, and if so, whether they responded quickly to remedy it.
