Finding the best vacation rental experience:
Money saving strategies:
- Summer is the most expensive season in the Currituck area. Booking your Currituck vacation rental in Fall or Spring is our best tip for saving money on your rental home. Rates are lower, and you'll find a better selection of acceptable properties. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a Currituck vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday near the ocean? Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years are great times to gather with loved ones at the beach.
- Book your rental as early as possible. Rental schedules generally open twelve months in advance (or in September just after the Summer season ends). Many families book their Summer vacations during Thanksgiving and Christmas gatherings. Book before these holidays for best selection.
- Veterans and Active Duty Military members may qualify for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective host if your group qualifies for a discount.
- Booking websites often offer renters an option to purchase trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which normally will cost you between 1% - 5% of the stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any missed trip time as a result of personal medical-related emergencies or weather disasters, as well as hurricane evacuation charges, such as an unexpected hotel or additional gas expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a welcome relief if the unforeseen happens. Ask the property owner for additional information.
- Look for your local Currituck area magazine when you arrive at the rental property. If your rental doesn't have one, you can find them at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers. In addition to great local stories, visitors guides contain money saving offers on nearby shops and restaurants.
Choosing and booking a perfectrental:
- Select a group lead, choose your vacation week, and choose a spending budget.
- Decide how many beds and what type of bedroom configuration you need. Corolla Oceanside, Private Courtyard w\/hot tub - 5 min walk to beach has 4 bedrooms and 4 bathrooms.
- Specific information regarding bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is regularly accessible online. If they are not listed, email the property owner before you reserve your home. Remember that most listings specify the max. guest capacity, which often includes pull out couches in living rooms. You'll need to work out what configuration is suitable for your vacation group.
- Are you looking for specific amenities? Most rental search websites include search filters with amenity lists.
- Appropriate accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for those with limited mobility. .
- If your family is traveling with pets, you must reserve a pet-friendly property. Ask for specifics on breed, size, and type requirements. Usually, property owners charge additional pet fees.
More considerations for your visit:
- Review check in & check out procedures before leaving home. Save the directions to your phone, and take a printed backup.
- During arrival, record any issues with the rental property and immediately alert the property manager. Record all coorespondence.
- Property managers are there to help! Don't be shy to ask any questions before, during, or after your stay.
- Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like troublesome visitors bothering your quiet neighborhood. Apply the golden rule for common sense. If they like you, locals might even recommend great restaurants and scenic spots you would have never otherwise known about!
- Don't forget to... Ask a local! Locals can usually help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to go for the best drinks, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for BBQ?
- Lock your vacation home while you are out and about. Protect your property!
- Don't leave anything behind! Just before departing, take a walk through the rental to reconfirm you've collected all of your things. Make sure to check dressers, closets, and bathrooms for hidden items. Clean out the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Inspect the property a final time and keep an eye out for any damage. We advise inspecting the property with the property manager whenever you can (often this isn't possible). If the property manager isn't available, ensure that you take video of the property to record its condition.
- After your trip, leave feedback! Hosts rely on great ratings to compel new bookings. They'll be much obliged for your review. Alternatively, if something wasn't right, other vacationing families will will be grateful for your experience and help them have the best future vacation. Remember to be objective. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the property manager had any control over the issue, and if so, whether they responded reasonably to solve it.
