Our top Corolla vacation rental tips:
When to reserve a Currituck rental & When to go:
- Reserve your vacation home as early as possible. Rental schedules often become available twelve months in advance (or in September just after Summer ends). Many families book their Summer rental homes during Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years Eve get-togethers. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
- Booking your Currituck vacation home in Fall or Spring months is our best tip for saving money on your rental home. Rental rates are lower, and you'll find a better selection of suitable homes. Many vacationers use this method to find larger homes within budget, or to reserve an oceanfront vacation rental that would otherwise be unaffordable during the high season. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a Currituck vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday on the coast? Christmas, Thanksgiving, and New Years Eve are great times to gather with family and friends at the beach.
- Some property managers offer discounts for veterans and active duty military. Remember to ask your property manager if special offers are available for your group before you book.
- Management companies and individual rental owners frequently offer customers an option to obtain trip insurance. Trip insurance, which costs 1% - 5% of the reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any missed trip time as a result of medical-related catastrophes or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional evacuation costs or charges, such as an unanticipated hotel overnight or additional gasoline expenses. Trip insurance can be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your property manager for additional information.
- Find a copy of your local Currituck visitors guide magazine upon arrival. If your rental property doesn't have one, you can find them at local shops and visitor centers. In addition to great articles, visitors guides contain coupons for local accommodations, restaurants and tours.
Finding the best vacation home in Corolla:
- Select a group lead, select your trip dates, and select a spending budget.
- Determine how many beds and the configuration you need. Terrific Dog-Friendly Soundside Home w\/ a Private Pool, Hot Tub, & Beach Access has 5 bedrooms and 5 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our rentals search.
- Precise information regarding bedrooms and bed counts & types is almost always accessible on booking pages. If not, call the host before reserving the property. Note that most properties list the maximum guest capacity, which usually includes pull out couches in living rooms.
- If your group is traveling with pets, you'll need to find a property that allows animals. Ask for information on breed, size, and type restrictions. Some hosts charge additional pet fees.
- If there's an individual Currituck beach you simply love, browse properties that are either near by, or those that cater especially to your needs.
- Suitable accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for guests that require the use of a wheelchair. Make certain to ask about wheel chair accessibility, pool lifts and specialized equipment needs.
Some things to know before you go:
- Get the owner's contact number and arrival/departure procedures for your . Put the host's contact information in your smartphone and wallet.
- Ask questions. You may want instructions for a fireplace, stereo or kitchen appliance. Contact your property manager. They are there to help! A brief text message can prevent many concerns.
- Keep the property locked while you are away! Don't let crooks ruin your trip.
- During check-in, note any damages to the property and immediately contact the owner. Keep records of all coorespondence.
- Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like obnoxious visitors bothering your home life. Apply the golden rule for common sense. If they like you, locals might even recommend great restaurants and attractions you would've not otherwise known about!
- Don't forget to... Ask a local! Neighbors can frequently help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to charter a fishing boat, have a great night out, or the best spots for BBQ?
- Don't leave anything behind! Before you drive away, take a walk through the rental property to confirm you've collected all of your things. Re-check bathrooms, dressers, and closets for hidden treasure. Clean out the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Inspect the property a final time and keep an eye out for any damage. We advise inspecting the property with the property manager whenever you can (often this isn't possible). If the property manager isn't available, remember to take video and pictures of the rental to record its condition.
- Did your group have a great stay? Many rental management companies make it easy for travelers to provide reviews. If your property and/or property manager was wonderful, they would love to hear it. If anything was wrong and they failed to correct it reasonably, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make it a point as part of your comments.
