How to get the best vacation property experience:
Sticking to your rental budget:
- Summer time is high season in Corolla. To find the largest rental within budget, we suggest reserving in the Fall or Spring. You'll benefit from lower rental rates, greater selection, warm weather and the absence of large crowds at popular attractions and restaurants. Many vacationers use this method to find larger homes within budget, or to book a beach front vacation rental that would otherwise be unavailable or unaffordable during the high season. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a Currituck vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday near the ocean? Thanksgiving and Christmas are great times to gather with family and friends at your favorite beach.
- Book your vacation rental as early as possible. Rental schedules generally become available a year in advance (or in September just after the Summer season ends). Many families book their Summer rentals during Winter holiday get-togethers. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
- Property managers sometimes offer discounts for veterans. Check with your host or property manager to see if special offers are available for your family before you book.
- Property management companies frequently offer guests an option to purchase vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which normally costs 1% - 5% of the stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any missed days as a result of personal medical-related issues or weather disasters, as well as evacuation charges, such as an unanticipated hotel or additional gas expenses. Trip insurance can be a a bank account-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask the property owner for specifics.
- Find a copy of your local Currituck visitors guide upon arrival. If your rental doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local grocery stores and visitor centers. In addition to great local articles, visitor guides contain discounts for nearby accommodations, tours and attractions.
Planning, selecting, and booking your prefectrental home:
- Begin by selecting vacation dates and a max budget.
- Decide how many bedrooms and what type of bedroom configuration your group needs. Pet-Friendly Oceanside Home w\/ Heated Saltwater Pool & Hot Tub has 5 bedrooms and 4 bathrooms.
- Precise details about bedrooms and bed counts is regularly accessible on booking websites. If you don't see them listed, email or call the property manager before booking your home. Note that most property listings specify maximum guest capacity, which typically includes pull-out couches and bunk beds. You'll need to work out what is right for your vacation group.
- If there's a certain Currituck attraction you love, browse rentals that are either close by, or those that cater especially to your needs.
- Suitable accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for those with limited mobility. Remember to confirm all required amenities are available before reserving a rental
- If your family is bringing pets, you'll need to search for a property that allows animals. Ask for information on breed, weight, and type restrictions. Often, property owners charge pet deposits and fees.
Considerations for your stay:
- Get the property manager's phone number and entry/exit procedures for your rental property. We recommend storing the host's contact information in your smartphone and wallet.
- Upon arrival, note any issues with the rental property and immediately alert the property manager. Record all coorespondence.
- Hosts are great sources of help! Don't be shy to ask any questions before, during, or after your stay.
- Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like loud vacationers disrupting your home life. Apply the golden rule for best judgement. If they like you, locals might even recommend great restaurants and attractions you would have not otherwise known about!
- Don't forget to... Ask a local! Neighbors can frequently help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to see a beautiful sunrise or sunset, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for BBQ?
- Protect the rental owner (and your stuff!) by locking the property while you are out, just like you would back home.
- Double-check the vacation property to confirm that you've packed everything at check-out. Check bathrooms, dressers, and closets for hidden items. Clean the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Record a video to document the condition of the property.
- Leave feedback! Hosts rely on excellent feedback to propel new bookings. They'll be much obliged for your feedback. Alternatively, if something went awry, other vacationers will be thankful you shared your experience find their best vacation home. Please be fair with your feedback If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the host had any control over the issue, and if so, whether they responded expeditiously to solve it.
