Tips for getting the best Corolla rental home experience:
Money saving strategies:
- In the Currituck area, The sooner you can book, the easier your search will be. The most desirable rental properties are booked early. Reserving your rental up to 12 months before your travel dates is recommended. Holidays such as Christmas and Thanksgiving are excellent times to plan and reserve your rental property.
- June, July, and August are the most expensive months in the Currituck area. To find the most suitable vacation home within your budget, we strongly suggest booking in the Spring or Fall. You'll enjoy lower rental rates, greater selection, gorgeous weather and the absence of giant crowds at local restaurants, tours, and activities. Many vacationers use this strategy to reserve larger homes, or to reserve an oceanfront vacation rental that would otherwise be unaffordable during June, July, and August.
- Veterans and Active Duty Military members may qualify for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property management company or host whether your family qualifies for a special rate.
- Management companies and individual rental owners typically offer customers an option to purchase trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which normally costs 1% - 5% of the booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any days missed as a result of personal medical-related emergencies or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation costs or charges, such as an unanticipated hotel or additional fuel expenses. Trip insurance can be a a life-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask your host for specifics.
- Often, property management companies and vacation rental houses supply Currituck area visitor guides which include coupons, either offered independently by local companies, or through a partnership between the management company and the business itself. You can also find Currituck area magazine and coupon books at local shops and grocery stores.
Filter your rental search:
- Choose a designated group leader, choose your vacation dates, and choose a spending budget.
- Decide how many bedrooms and the configuration your group requires. Silence of the Clams: Soundfront\/Hot Tub\/Elevator has 5 bedrooms and 6 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our search.
- Precise descriptions of bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is usually available on booking websites. If you don't see them listed, call the property management company before you book the vacation property. Remember that most properties list maximum guest capacity, which frequently includes pull-out couches and bunk beds. You will need to work out what is best for your group.
- Some rental properties allow pets, and some do not. Allowable types of dog or cat, size and breeds may be restricted, and added costs may apply. Ask the property manager about allowable breeds and types before booking.
- Is your family looking for unique amenities? Most rental websites include search filters for amenities.
- Proper accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for persons with disabilities. .
Additional considerations:
- Add the property manager's information to your phone. Take a copy of check in/check out procedures.
- Property managers are available to help! Feel free to ask questions during your stay.
- Protect the rental owner (and your things!) by locking the property while you are gone, just like you would at home.
- During check-in, record any issues with the rental property and immediately contact the host. Keep records of all correspondence in case a dispute arises.
- Be a good neighbor. Often times, surrounding homes are occupied by local residents. Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking regulations is the right thing to do.
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Residents can typically help. Who better to ask where to take kids for a treat, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for bird watching?
- Don't leave anything behind! Just before you drive away, take a walk through the rental to confirm you've collected all personal items. Make sure to check garages, decks, and cabinets for hidden treasure. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Document the condition of the property at check-out. We recommend taking a video during your final walk-through.
- Did your group have a great stay? Most rental home management companies make it easy for customers to provide reviews. If your rental and/or host was terrific, they would love to hear it. If anything was imperfect and they failed to correct it within reason, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make a note as part of your review.
