Tips and Tricks to get the very best Currituck vacation property experience:
When to book & When to go:
- Book your vacation home as soon as possible. Rental schedules generally become available a year in advance (or in September just after the Summer season ends). Many groups reserve their Summer rental homes during holiday get-togethers. Book before these holidays for best selection.
- To find the largest vacation home for your budget, we recommend reserving in the Fall or Spring. You'll benefit from lower rates, better selection, gorgeous weather and the absence of large crowds at restaurants, beaches, and activities. Many vacationers use this method to find larger homes within budget, or to reserve a beach front rental that would otherwise be unaffordable during the Summer. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a Currituck vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday vacation on the coast? Thanksgiving and Christmas are great times to gather with family and friends at the beach.
- Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may qualify for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property owner if your family qualifies for a reduced rate.
- Property managers frequently offer their guests an option to purchase vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which costs between 1% - 5% of the base booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any missed vacation time as a result of personal medical-related catastrophes or weather, as well as hurricane evacuation costs, such as an unexpected hotel overnight or additional gas expenses. Trip insurance might be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen happens. Ask the property owner for more information.
- Look for your local Currituck visitors guide magazine when you arrive at the rental property. If your rental doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers. In addition to great local information, visitor guide magazines contain discounts for nearby tours, shops, and attractions.
Narrow your rental Search:
- Begin by selecting potential vacation weeks and a spending budget.
- Determine how many beds and what type of bedroom configuration your group requires. Beach Paradise 6BR Pet-Friendly Home at Soundfront at Corolla Bay has 6 bedrooms and 6 bathrooms.
- Precise information regarding bedrooms and bed counts & types is regularly accessible on booking websites. If they are not listed, contact the property manager before you book the rental. Remember that most properties list maximum guest capacity, which often includes sofa beds and bunks.
- Some rentals allow pets, but others don't. Acceptable types of dog or cat, size and breeds may be restricted, and additional charges may apply. Ask the host about pet restrictions before booking.
- If there's a certain Currituck beach you long to visit, look for homes that are either near by, or those that cater especially to your needs.
- Suitable accessibility can make or break a vacation for persons with disabilities. Confirm all required amenities are available before reserving a rental
During your stay:
- Be sure you get the property manager's phone number and arrival/departure procedures for your . Store the manager's contact information in your smartphone and wallet.
- Ask questions. You may want instructions for a fireplace, intercom or washer/dryer. Contact your owner. They are there to help! A brief telephone call can prevent a lot of concerns.
- Protect the owner (and your things!) by locking the property when you are away, just like you would back home.
- To ensure that damages aren't linked to your family's stay, inspect for any problem areas during arrival. Call the host immediately to relay any pre-existing damages. If there is a dispute about who is responsible, having a record of problems and contact attempts will be very helpful.
- Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like obnoxious visitors disrupting your peaceful home. Use the golden rule for best judgement. If they like you, locals might even recommend great beaches and attractions you would've never otherwise known!
- Don't forget to... Ask a local! Local residents can usually help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to get the best breakfast in town, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for fine dining?
- On check-out day, complete a final walk-through to confirm you didn't forget any personal items. Make sure to check bathrooms, garages, and back yards for hidden belongings. Clean the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Document the condition of the property at check-out. We recommend taking a video during your final walk-through.
- Leave a review! Hosts rely on excellent feedback to drive future bookings. They'll be grateful for your feedback. Alternatively, if something wasn't right, other families will will be grateful for your experience and help them have the best future vacation. Remember to be objective. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the host had any control over the issue, and if so, whether they responded reasonably to remedy it.
