Tips and Tricks to get the best rental home experience:
Cost saving strategies:
- In the Currituck area, The sooner you can reserve a vacation rental, the better your selection will be. The most desirable rental homes are reserved very early. Booking your vacation property 6-12 months before your vacation is recommended. Winter holidays are excellent times to plan and book your rental property.
- Summer time is high season in Corolla. Booking your vacation home in Fall or Spring months is a great way to save on your vacation. Rates are lower, and you'll find a better selection of acceptable properties. Many vacationers use this method to find larger homes within budget, or to reserve an oceanfront rental that would otherwise be unavailable or unaffordable during June, July, and August.
- Some owners offer discounts for veterans. Remember to ask your property manager if special discounts are available for your family.
- Property managers frequently offer their guests an option to obtain trip insurance. Trip insurance, which usually costs between 1% - 5% of the base reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for days missed as a result of personal medical-related issues or weather, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation charges, such as an unexpected hotel or additional gasoline expenses. Trip insurance can be a a bank account-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask the property owner for more information.
- Look for your local visitors guide when you check-in. If your rental property doesn't have one, you can find them at local shops and fuel stations. In addition to great articles, visitors guide magazines contain money saving offers on local tours and attractions.
Filter your search:
- Start by selecting vacation dates and a max budget.
- Determine how many bedrooms and the bed configuration your family requires. WHO IS READY FOR SUNSHINE AND SAND?! PACK YOUR SENSE OF ADVENTURE & COME VISIT! has 4 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our rentals search.
- Specific information regarding bedrooms and bed types is usually accessible online. Otherwise, reach out to the property manager before you reserve the home. Note that most property listings specify the max. guest capacity, which often includes sofa beds. You will need to establish what configuration is optimal for your group.
- If your family is traveling with pets, you'll need to find a pet-friendly vacation rental. Request specifics on breed, weight, and type requirements. Be aware that some property managers require additional pet deposits and fees.
- Are you looking for unique amenities? Most rental search websites include search filters with amenity lists. Use these to your advantage to find the perfect rental home.
- Proper accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for persons with disabilities. Make certain to ask about wheel chair entry, pool lifts and specialized equipment needs.
More tips for your stay:
- Get the host's contact number and check in/check out procedures for your .
- Ask questions. You may want instructions for a hot tub, television set or appliance. Contact your host. They are there to help! A brief text message can prevent a lot of difficulties.
- Keep the property locked while you're away! Don't let burglars spoil your trip.
- Upon check-in, document any damages to the rental property and immediately contact the owner. Keep records of all coorespondence.
- Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking restrictions can make a stay more pleasurable. Be a good neighbor. You'll enhance your chance to make local friends, and resident neighbors are usually an incredible resource to find the best local beaches and hangouts.
- Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Locals can usually help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to order the best nachos, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for shopping?
- Just before checking out, complete a final walk-through to confirm you did not leave anything behind. Remember to check bathrooms, garages, and back yards for hidden items. Clean out the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Inspect the property one final time and scan for damage. We advise inspecting the property with the host whenever you can (often this isn't possible). If the host isn't available, ensure that you take video of the property to record its condition.
- After your trip, leave a review! Property managers rely on good ratings to stimulate new bookings. They'll be thankful for your review. Alternatively, if something wasn't right, other families will appreciate that you share your experience find their best vacation home. Be fair with your review. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the owner could control the issue, and if so, whether they responded reasonably to fix it.
