Do you want a real beach home experience? Then check out our 4 bedroom "Grandiose Ole Osprey" - Our family's owned and adored beach home that was constructed in the late 1970's on a $1,000 piece of land in the coveted and private Ocean Sands Beach community. Back in the day one could have also bought oceanfront property for a whopping $2,000!

The Grand Ole Osprey has weathered all types of weather patterns from hurricanes to countless nor’ easters and it still stands strong. Covered in thick weathered cedar planking and lovingly constructed and maintained for over 42 years. Attention to detail and many new new upgrades have been added hat include appliances, HVAC, Electrical, decking and more). The backyard of the home is just striking and rests on the edge of 17 1/2 acres of shared open space dunes with foxes, deer, rabbits and osprey. Senior family members will appreciate the first floor master suite with King bed and full bath. Three more bedrooms upstairs will allow you to spread out. You can actually hear the ocean waves crashing out back. The walls and ceiling are covered in gorgeous Ponderosa Pine throughout. Featuring new upgrades such as Intelligent T.V.s, 2 Zone HVAC, Hot Water Heater, Dishwasher, Microwave, Oven, Toilets and more! Head upstairs to the master suite rear deck and check out the ocean view overlooking the impressive dunes. Cozy, inviting, classic, these are are all the words that come to mind when you visit the Grand Ole Osprey, this place is special and will have you making family memories that will last a lifetime.

***Strictly No Animals Accepted - And, if approved, Service or Support animals may not be left unattended in the home and doing so incurs a $500 fee per occurrence and your stay will be terminated immediately.

***If your animal stay request is approved, do you acknowledge these costs and assure us at no time will an approved service animal be left unattended in the home? Also, all vaccinations must be up to date and documents included to landlord prior to lease agreement being signed?

This is a binding agreement and the neighbors help enforce this agreement. Please, don’t risk your vacation by bringing unapproved animals onto the premises. By doing so, you will be asked to vacate the premises and pay a $500 fine.

Bring your own beach chairs and umbrellas. We no longer provide these items.

About the Area

Located near the beach, this vacation home is in Ocean Sands, a neighborhood in Corolla. Outer Banks Center for Wildlife Education and Wild Horse Museum are cultural highlights, and some of the area's attractions include Corolla Raceway and Corolla Adventure Golf and Bumper Cars. Traveling with kids? Consider Nor'Banks Sailing and Flippers Arcade & Variety Store. Be sure to check out the area's animals with activities such as game walks and birdwatching.

Getting the most from your rental home budget:

  • The sooner you can book a rental home, the better your selection will be. The most desirable properties are reserved very early. Reserving your vacation home up to 12 months before your vacation is recommended. Holiday gatherings are excellent times to search for and reserve your vacation home.
  • June, July, and August are high season in the Currituck area. To find the best rental home within your budget, we recommend reserving in the Fall or Spring. You'll enjoy lower rates, greater selection, gorgeous weather and the absence of giant crowds at Currituck restaurants, beaches, and activities. Many vacationers use this method to find larger homes within budget, or to book a beach front rental that would otherwise be unavailable during the Summer months.
  • Veterans and Active Duty Military members may qualify for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property owner if your family qualifies for a special rate.
  • Management companies and individual rental owners usually offer guests an option to add trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which normally will cost you between 1% - 5% of the base booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for missed days as a result of personal medical-related catastrophes or weather disasters, as well as evacuation charges, such as an unanticipated hotel stay or additional fuel expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a welcome relief if the unforeseen occurs. Ask the property owner for more information.

  • Appropriate accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for guests that require the use of a wheelchair. .

Know before you go:

  • Be sure you get the owner's phone number and arrival/departure procedures for your rental property. We recommend storing the manager's information in your smartphone and wallet.
  • Property managers are there to help! Don't be shy to ask any questions before, during, or after your stay.
  • Lock your rental while you are out and about. Keep your property safe!
  • Record any damages to the rental upon arrival, and immediately e-mail them to the owner. We especially recommend e-mails and text messages, as they usually contain built-in time stamps that can be beneficial if damages are attributed to your stay.
  • Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like obnoxious vacationers bothering your peace and quiet. Practice the golden rule for best judgement. If they like you, locals might even recommend great local food and places you would've not otherwise known!
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Residents can often help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to order delicious takeout, have a great night out, or the best spots for crabbing?
  • Don't leave anything behind! Before you drive away, walk through the property to reconfirm you've collected all personal belongings. Re-check closets, dressers, garages, and bathrooms for hidden belongings. Clean out the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
  • Document the condition of the property at check-out. We recommend taking a video during your final walk-through.
  • Did your family have a fantastic stay? Many rental managers make it easy for travelers to provide feedback. If your rental property and/or property manager was fantastic, they always love to hear your praise.
