Tips and Tricks for getting the perfect Currituck vacation property experience:
Sticking to your spending budget:
- The earlier you can book a rental home, the better your selection will be. The best properties are booked early. Reserving your vacation rental up to 12 months before your vacation is recommended. Holiday gatherings are excellent times to search for and reserve your rental home.
- Summer is the most expensive season in Corolla. To get the best value, try shifting your group's vacation dates to the Spring or Fall shoulder seasons. May, September, and even October offer pleasant temperatures, fewer crowds, and greatly reduced traffic. Many vacationers use this method to reserve larger homes, or to book an oceanfront rental that would otherwise be unavailable or unaffordable during the Summer months.
- Some hosts offer promotional rates for active duty military and veterans. Check with your property manager to see if rate reductions are available for your group before you book.
- Property managers usually offer customers an option to buy vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which costs anywhere between 1% - 5% of the reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any missed trip time as a result of personal medical-related issues or weather, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation costs, such as an unexpected hotel stay or extra gas expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a welcome relief if the unforeseen happens. Ask your property manager for more information.
- Many property management companies and vacation rental houses supply Currituck area travel guides which often include money-saving deals, either offered directly by local companies, or by way of a relationship with the management company and the business itself. You can also find Currituck visitors guide and coupon books at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers.
How to choose and book the perfect Currituck rental:
- Select a designated group leader, select your vacation dates, and choose a maximum budget.
- Note the number beds and the bed configuration your family needs. Oceanside,Pool,Spa,GameRm,7MinWalk2Beach&Sound New has 4 bedrooms and 5 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our rentals search.
- Precise information about bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is commonly accessible on booking websites. If not, email or call the property manager before reserving the vacation home. Remember that most properties list maximum guest capacity, which often includes pull-out couches and bunk beds.
- Some rentals allow pets, and others do not. Allowable types of pet, size and breeds may be restricted, and added charges may apply. Ask the owner about allowable pet guidelines before booking.
- Visiting for a specific attraction or event? If so, use a map search to find nearby rentals.
- Suitable accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for the less-mobile. Make certain to inquire about specialized equipment and wheel chair accessibility.
More considerations for your visit:
- Review check in & check out procedures before leaving home. Take a printed copy, and save the instructions to your phone.
- Ask questions. You may want instructions for a hot tub, television set or coffee maker. Contact your host. They are there to help! A brief phone call prevents many difficulties.
- Ensure you protect the owner (and your stuff!) by locking the rental when you are away, just like you would back home.
- To make sure damages are not attributed to your family's visit, record any problem areas during arrival. Make contact with the property manager right away to relay any issues. If there is a dispute, having the recorded concerns and contact attempts will be useful.
- Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like obnoxious visitors bothering your peaceful home life. Apply the golden rule for best judgement. If they like you, locals might even recommend great beaches and attractions you would've not otherwise known!
- Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Residents can usually help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to order delicious takeout, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for crabbing?
- Re-check the property to confirm that you've packed all personal items on check-out day. Make sure to check closets, dressers, garages, and bathrooms for hidden items. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Please make sure to walk through the property one final time and scan for any damage. We recommend inspecting the property with the property manager whenever you can. If the manager isn't available, remember to take photographs of the property to record its condition.
- Leave feedback! Property managers rely on good feedback to propel more reservations. They'll be grateful for your review. Alternatively, if something wasn't as described, other vacationing families will be thankful you shared your experience find their best vacation home. Please be objective. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the manager could control the issue, and if so, whether they responded expeditiously to remedy it.
