Tips to get the very best Currituck vacation home experience:
Finding your perfect rental home:
- In the Currituck area, The earlier you can book, the easier your search will be. The best rental properties are booked very early. Booking your vacation home 6-12 months before your vacation dates is recommended. Christmas, Thanksgiving and New Years Eve are excellent times to plan and reserve your rental home.
- To get the most suitable rental within budget, we suggest reserving in the Fall or Spring shoulder seasons. You'll enjoy lower rental rates, greater selection, warm weather and the absence of large crowds at your favorite Currituck restaurants and activities.
- Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may be qualified for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property management company or host if your vacationing group qualifies for a price reduction or discount.
- Property managers frequently offer guests an option to purchase trip insurance. Trip insurance, which will generally cost between 1% - 5% of the base stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any missed trip time as a result of personal medical-related catastrophes or weather disasters, as well as hurricane evacuation charges, such as an unanticipated hotel overnight or extra gas expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a welcome relief if the unforeseen happens. Ask your property manager for specifics.
- Find a copy of your local Currituck visitors guide magazine when you check-in. If your rental property doesn't have one, you can find them at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers. In addition to great local information, visitor guide magazines have discounts for nearby restaurants, attractions, and tours.
Filter your search:
- Start by having your family select date ranges and a budget.
- Note the number bedrooms and what type of bedroom configuration your group needs. Marie's Ocean View: Summer Weeks Reduced, Private Pool, Hot Tub has 4 bedrooms and 4 bathrooms.
- Precise information regarding bedrooms and bed counts is almost always accessible on booking pages. If you don't see them listed, email or call the host before you book your rental. Remember that most listings specify the max. guest capacity, which typically includes pull out couches in living rooms. You'll need to work out which bed configuration is suitable for your group.
- If your family is traveling with pets, filter your search for a pet-friendly property. Request information on breed, weight, and type requirements. Often, hosts require additional pet deposits and fees.
- Visiting for a specific event or attraction? If so, use a map search to browse nearby rentals.
- Appropriate accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for the less-mobile. .
More tips for your visit:
- Review check in & check out procedures before traveling. Take a printed copy, and save the directions to your smartphone.
- Ask questions. You may need instructions for a fireplace, intercom or appliance. Contact your property manager. They are there to help! A brief phone call can prevent lots of difficulties.
- Lock your rental property while you're out! Don't let thieves ruin your vacation.
- To make sure that damages are not attributed to your visit, inspect the rental for any problem areas during arrival. Call the property manager immediately to record any issues. If there is a dispute about legal responsibility later, having a record of issues and contact attempts will be useful.
- Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like obnoxious visitors disrupting your peaceful home life. Apply the golden rule for best judgement. Happy residents may even recommend great beaches and attractions you would've not otherwise known!
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Residents can usually help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to rent beach equipment, have a great night out, or the best spots for bird watching?
- Re-check the vacation property to make sure that you've packed all of your belongings at departure. Check dressers, closets, and bathrooms for hidden belongings. Clean the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Please make sure to walk through the property a final time and look for damage. We recommend inspecting the property with the property manager whenever possible. If the manager is not available, take video and pictures of the property to record its condition.
- Did your family have a great time? Most rental home management companies make it easy for clients to provide feedback. If your property and/or property manager was terrific, they would love to hear about it. If anything was wrong and they failed to fix it reasonably, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make a note as part of your feedback.
