Booking the best Currituck rental experience:
Find your best deal:
- In the Currituck area, The sooner your group can book, the easier your search will be. The best rental properties are reserved early. Booking your vacation rental up to twelve months before your vacation is recommended. Holiday gatherings are excellent times to plan and reserve your vacation rental.
- Summer months are the most expensive season in coastal NC. To find the best value, change your family's Currituck vacation week to the Spring or Fall shoulder seasons. May, September, and even October offer great temperatures, fewer crowds, and greatly reduced traffic.
- Veterans and Active Duty Military members may qualify for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property manager if your vacationing group qualifies for a price reduction or discount.
- Management companies and individual rental owners typically offer guests an option to add vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which costs between 1% - 5% of the booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for missed days as a result of medical-related issues or weather, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation charges, such as an unanticipated hotel or additional gasoline expenses. Trip insurance can be a a life-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask the property owner for more information.
- Look for your local Currituck area magazine when you arrive at the rental property. If your rental doesn't have one, you can find them at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers. In addition to great local articles, travel guides contain discounts for nearby tours, shops, and attractions.
Planning, picking, and booking a perfect Currituck rental:
- Choose a group leader, choose your vacation dates, and select a spending budget.
- Note the number bedrooms and the bed configuration you need. Spacious Oceanside Home w\/ Pool, Hot Tub, Tiki Bar, & Rec Room has 7 bedrooms and 6 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our Currituck rental home search.
- Specific information regarding bedrooms and bed counts is usually available on booking pages. If not, contact the property management company before reserving your home. Note that most listings specify the max. guest capacity, which typically includes pull out couches in living rooms.
- If your family is vacationing with pets, you must reserve a pet-friendly property. Get specifics on breed, weight, and type restrictions. Note that some hosts charge additional pet fees.
- Is your group looking for particular amenities? Most rental websites include search filters with amenity lists. Use these filters to your advantage to find the perfect rental home.
- Appropriate accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for the less-mobile. Remember to confirm all necessary amenities are available and included before booking
Additional considerations:
- Get the property manager's phone number and arrival/departure procedures for your rental property. We recommend storing the manager's contact information in your smartphone.
- Ask questions. You may need instructions for a hot tub, stereo or coffee maker. Contact your property manager. They are there to help! A brief text message can prevent lots of issues.
- Keep the property locked while you're out! Don't let crooks ruin your family vacation.
- Make a record of any damages to the rental during check in, and immediately send them to the owner. We specifically recommend texts and e-mails, as they usually contain built-in time stamps that can be valuable if there is a dispute.
- Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like troublesome visitors bothering your peaceful home. Practice the golden rule for common sense. If they like you, locals might even recommend great beaches and attractions you would've not otherwise known about!
- Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Residents can usually point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to find the fresh catch of the day, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for crabbing?
- Double-check every room of the rental property to confirm that you've packed everything on check-out day. Make sure to check bathrooms, garages, and back yards for hidden belongings. Clean out the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Please make sure to walk through the property a final time and scan for damage. We advise inspecting the property with the host whenever you can. If the host is not available, take pictures of the property to record its condition.
- Did you have a excellent stay? Many rental home management companies make it easy for travelers to provide feedback. If your property and/or host was fantastic, they always love to hear your praise. If anything was out of order and they failed to correct it reasonably, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make it a point as part of your comments.
