Finding the best Corolla vacation home experience:
Cost saving strategies:
- Reserve your rental as early as possible. Rental schedules often open a year in advance (or in September just after the Summer season ends). Many families book their Summer rentals during holiday get-togethers. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
- Summer is the most expensive season in coastal NC. To get the best value, try shifting your family's Currituck vacation dates to the Spring or Fall seasons. May, September, and October offer warmer weather, fewer crowds, and greatly reduced traffic. Many vacationers use this method to find larger homes within budget, or to reserve a beach front vacation rental that would otherwise be unaffordable during June, July, and August.
- Some hosts and property managers offer discounts for active duty military and veterans. It's always a good idea to check with your host or property manager to see if special offers are available for your family.
- Management companies and individual rental owners often offer guests an option to purchase trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which normally costs between 1% - 5% of the base stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any missed days as a result of personal medical-related catastrophes or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation charges, such as an unanticipated hotel or extra fuel expenses. Trip insurance can be a a life-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask your property manager for details.
- Often, rental management companies and vacation rental houses supply Currituck area visitors guides which often include special deals, either offered directly by local companies, or by way of a relationship between the property management company and the business itself. You can also find visitors guide and coupon books at local gas stations and shopping centers.
How to select the best rental:
- Select dates and spending budget.
- Decide how many bedrooms and the configuration your group needs. Semi-Oceanfront, 6 BRs, Priv Pool, H Tub, Rec Rm, OS6B, Seashell has 7 bedrooms and 6 bathrooms.
- Precise information about bedrooms and bed counts is often available online. If they are not listed, email the property owner before you book your rental. Note that most property listings specify the maximum guest capacity, which frequently includes pull out couches in living rooms.
- If your group is traveling with pets, you'll need to search for a property that allows animals. Get details on breed, weight, and type requirements. Note that some property owners charge pet deposits and fees.
- Are you visiting for a specific event? Try a map search to locate nearby properties.
- Proper accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for persons with disabilities. Remember to confirm all necessary amenities are available and included before booking
Have a wonderful stay:
- Get the owner's contact number and entry/exit procedures for your rental home. Put the manager's information in your smartphone.
- Property managers are great sources of help! Don't be shy to ask any questions during your stay.
- Lock your rental while you're out and about. Protect the owner's property and your stuff!
- To ensure that no damages are attributed to your family's stay, make note of any problem areas upon your arrival. message the host right away to relay any damages. If there is a dispute about legal responsibility later, having a record of concerns and contact attempts will be useful.
- Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like obnoxious visitors bothering your peace. Apply the golden rule for best judgement. If they like you, locals might even recommend great restaurants and scenic spots you would have not otherwise known about!
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Local residents can usually point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to order delicious takeout, have a great night out, or the best spots for fine dining?
- Don't leave anything behind! Before departing, walk through the rental to make sure you've collected all belongings. Re-check dressers, closets, and bathrooms for hidden items. Clean the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Document the condition of the property at check-out. We recommend taking a video during your final walk-through.
- Remember to leave a review! Hosts rely on excellent reviews to compel future bookings. They'll be grateful for your review. Alternatively, if something went wrong, other vacationers will be thankful you shared your experience and help them have the best future vacation. Be fair with your review. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the owner had any control over the issue, and if so, whether they responded expeditiously to fix it.
