Tricks and tips to get the best rental experience:
When to go & When to reserve a Corolla rental home:
- The sooner your group can book a vacation rental, the easier your search will be. The most desirable vacation rentals are reserved early. Reserving your vacation rental up to twelve months before your vacation dates is recommended. Holidays such as Christmas and Thanksgiving are excellent times to plan and book your vacation home.
- June, July, and August are high season in the Currituck area. Book your rental home in the Fall or Spring to get the benefit of warm weather while saving money and avoiding crowded roads, restaurants, and activities. Many vacationers use this strategy to reserve larger homes, or to reserve a beach front vacation rental that would otherwise be unaffordable during the Summer months.
- Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may be qualified for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property management company or host whether your family qualifies for a special rate.
- Booking websites often offer guests an option to purchase trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which will generally cost between 1% - 5% of the stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any missed time as a result of medical-related issues or weather, as well as hurricane evacuation charges, such as an unexpected hotel or extra fuel expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a welcome relief if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your host for additional information.
- Many property management companies and vacation rental houses supply Currituck area travel guide magazines which often include special deals, either offered directly by local businesses, or through a partnership between the rental management company and the business itself. You can also find Currituck visitors guide and coupon books at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers.
Planning and choosing the perfect Currituck rental:
- Choose your vacation week and budget.
- Note the number bedrooms and the configuration your family requires. Private beach retreat with deck, pools, hot tub, game room, volleyball & hoops has 7 bedrooms and 7 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our Currituck rental home search.
- Precise descriptions of bedrooms and bed counts is commonly accessible on booking pages. If not, contact the property manager before you reserve your home. Note that most listings specify the max. guest capacity, which oftentimes includes sofa beds. You'll need to establish what is best for your family.
- If your family is traveling with pets, you'll need to book a rental that allows animals. Make sure to ask for information on breed, size, and type requirements. Note that some hosts require additional pet deposits and fees.
- Are you visiting for a single event or attraction? If so, use a map search to locate nearby rentals.
- Suitable accessibility can make or break a vacation for persons with a disability. Confirm all required amenities are included before booking.
Have a great stay:
- Be sure you get the property manager's phone number and arrival/departure procedures for your .
- Hosts are available to help! Don't be shy to ask any questions during your stay.
- Lock your rental while you're away. Keep your property safe!
- Make a record of any issues with the rental during check in, and immediately e-mail them to the property manager. We especially recommend texts and e-mails, as they usually contain built-in time stamps that can be useful if a dispute arises.
- Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like obnoxious vacationers disrupting your home life. Apply the golden rule for best judgement. If they like you, locals might even recommend great local food and attractions you would have never otherwise known!
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Neighbors can usually help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to spend a rainy day, have a great night out, or the best spots for BBQ?
- Re-check every room of the property to confirm that you've packed all of your family's items on check-out day. Re-check bathrooms, dressers, and closets for hidden items. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Document the condition of the property at check-out. We recommend taking a video during your final walk-through.
- Did your family have a wonderful time? Many rental management companies make it easy for customers to provide reviews. If your property and/or property management company was wonderful, they will likely appreciate your kind words. If anything was wrong and they failed to correct it in a reasonable manner, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make it a point as part of your comments.
