Vacation rental tips:
Getting the best value:
- June, July, and August are high season in the Currituck area. To find the largest rental home within your budget, we highly recommend reserving in Fall or Spring months. You'll enjoy lower rental rates, better selection, warm weather and the absence of large crowds at popular attractions and restaurants.
- In the Currituck area, The earlier you can reserve a home, the easier your search will be. The most desirable rental homes are reserved early. Reserving your vacation rental up to twelve months before your vacation is recommended. Holidays such as Christmas and Thanksgiving are excellent times to plan and book your rental property.
- Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may be qualified for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective vacation rental company or host whether your group qualifies for a special promotion or discount.
- Property management companies usually offer renters an option to purchase vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which generally costs 1% - 5% of the reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for missed trip time as a result of medical-related catastrophes or weather disasters, as well as hurricane evacuation costs or charges, such as an unanticipated hotel overnight or additional gas expenses. Trip insurance might be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen happens. Ask your host for details.
- Often, rental management companies and vacation rental houses supply Currituck area visitors guide magazines which often include special offers, either offered independently by local businesses, or through a relationship with the property management company and the business itself. You can also find Currituck visitors guide and coupon books at local shops and grocery stores.
Planning and picking the rightrental:
- To start, have your family agree to dates and a spending budget.
- Decide how many bedrooms and the configuration your group needs. SeaClusion: Oceanside, private pool, hot tub, rec room, elevator, 180 feet to th has 7 bedrooms and 9 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our rental home search.
- Specific information regarding bedrooms and bed types is regularly accessible on booking websites. If they are not listed, email the host before booking your home. Note that most properties list the max. guest capacity, which usually includes sofa beds in living rooms. You will need to work out what is best for your family.
- If there's an individual Currituck beach you are enamored with, browse homes that are either close by, or those that cater to your requirements.
- Suitable accessibility can make or break a vacation for persons with a disability. Confirm all required amenities are available before booking
- Remember to include your furry companions! Although a number of vacation homes allow pets or animals, guidelines and costs vary per property. Allowable pet type, breed, and size are often limited. Ask your host before booking, and study your agreement! Pet fees or costs could be applied to your contract.
Additional considerations:
- Take a copy of the owner's contact number and check in/check out procedures for your rental home.
- Make a record of any issues with the property during check in, and immediately contact the property manager. We especially recommend e-mails and text messages, as they usually contain time stamps that can be very helpful if damages are attributed to your stay.
- Property managers are great sources of help! Don't be shy to ask any questions before, during, or after your stay.
- Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like unpleasant visitors bothering your peace and quiet. Employ the golden rule for common sense. Happy residents may even recommend great local food and attractions you would have not otherwise known about!
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Local residents can usually help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to grab the best tacos, have a great night out, or the best spots for shopping?
- Ensure you protect the rental owner (and your stuff!) by locking the rental while you are out, just like you would at home.
- Re-check every room of the rental property to confirm that you've packed all of your belongings at check-out. Make sure to check bathrooms, garages, and back yards for hidden belongings. Clean out the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Go through the rental a final time and look for any damage. We recommend walking through with the property manager whenever you can. If the host isn't available, remember to take video of the property to record its condition.
- Remember to leave feedback! Property managers rely on good ratings to propel more bookings. They'll be thankful for your feedback. Alternatively, if something went wrong, other vacationing families will be thankful you shared your review find their best vacation rental. Remember to be objective. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the owner had any control over the issue, and if so, whether they responded quickly to solve it.
