Tips and Tricks to get the best Corolla rental experience:

Get the most from your spending budget:

  • In the Currituck area, The earlier you can book a rental home, the easier your search will be. The most desirable properties are booked early. Booking your rental 6-12 months before your travel dates is recommended. Winter holidays are excellent times to search for and book your rental.
  • June, July, and August are the most expensive months in Corolla. Reserving a rental home in the Fall or Spring shoulder seasons is an excellent way to save money on your rental home. Rates are lower, and you'll find a better selection of desirable homes.
  • Some hosts and property managers offer discounts or promotional rates for veterans. Check with your property manager to see if special discounts are available for your group before you book.
  • Property management companies often offer their guests an option to buy vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which will generally cost anywhere between 1% - 5% of the booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for days missed as a result of medical-related catastrophes or weather, as well as evacuation costs or charges, such as an unexpected hotel or additional fuel expenses. Trip insurance might be a a life-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask the property owner for program terms and fees.
  • Find a copy of your local Currituck visitors guide magazine upon checking in. If your rental doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local shops and visitor centers. In addition to great local articles, visitors guide magazines contain discounts for local accommodations, tours and attractions.

Make a plan and pick the bestrental:

  • Choose vacation week and spending budget.
  • Decide how many beds and the configuration your family needs. Pet-friendly oceanside Corolla home w\/ private pool & hot tub! has 6 bedrooms and 6 bathrooms.
  • Precise descriptions of bedrooms and bed counts is almost always available online. If not, reach out to the property owner before booking your home. Note that most listings specify maximum guest capacity, which oftentimes includes pull-out couches. You will need to determine what configuration is optimal for your vacation group.
  • If your group is vacationing with pets, filter your search for a pet-friendly property. Make sure to ask for details on breed, weight, and type requirements. Note that some property owners require additional pet deposits and fees.
  • If there's an individual Currituck destination you are crazy about, browse rentals that are either close by, or those that cater to your desires.
  • Appropriate accessibility can make or break a vacation for persons with a disability. Remember to confirm all necessary amenities are available and included before booking

Tips for a smooth stay:

  • Take a copy of the host's contact number and entry/exit procedures for your rental home.
  • Ask questions. You may want instructions for a hot tub, stereo or appliance. Contact your host. They are there to help! A brief text message prevents many concerns.
  • Ensure you protect the owner (and your things!) by keeping the rental locked up while you are out, just like you would back home.
  • To make certain that damages aren't linked to your visit, make note of any problem areas during check in. Get in touch with the property manager right away to document your findings. If there is a dispute about legal responsibility later, having a record of problems and contact attempts will be helpful.
  • Be respectful. Often times, adjacent homes are filled by local residents. Respecting quiet hours and parking regulations is the right thing to do.
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Neighbors can typically help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to enjoy a steak with a view, have a great night out, or the best spots for fine dining?
  • Double-check every room of the rental property to make sure that you've packed all of your family's items at check-out. Re-check closets, dressers, garages, and bathrooms for hidden items. Clean out the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
  • Go through the rental one final time and scan for any damage. We suggest inspecting the property with the property manager whenever possible. If the host isn't available, take pictures of the property to record its condition.
  • Remember to leave feedback! Hosts rely on excellent ratings to propel new bookings. They'll be much obliged for your review. Alternatively, if something went awry, other families will will be grateful for your review find their best vacation home. Remember to be objective. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the manager had any control over the issue, and if so, whether they responded expeditiously to fix it.
