Tips to get the perfect Currituck rental home experience:
When to visit & When to book:
- Summer is the most expensive season in the Currituck area. Booking your Currituck vacation home in the Fall or Spring is our favorite way to save money on your vacation rental. Rental rates are lower, and you'll find a larger selection of desirable homes. Many vacationers use this method to find larger homes within budget, or to book an oceanfront vacation rental that would otherwise be unavailable during the Summer months.
- The sooner you can reserve a vacation home, the better your selection will be. The most desirable rental homes are reserved very early. Booking your vacation home six - twelve months before your vacation dates is recommended. Holiday gatherings are excellent times to plan and reserve your rental home.
- Owners sometimes offer discounts for veterans and active duty military. Check with your host or property manager to see if special offers are available for your group before you book.
- Management companies and individual rental owners often offer renters an option to add trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which normally costs 1% - 5% of the base reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for missed days as a result of medical-related issues or weather disasters, as well as evacuation costs or charges, such as an unanticipated hotel or extra fuel expenses. Trip insurance might be a a bank account-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your host for additional information.
- Many rental management companies and vacation rental houses supply Currituck area visitor guides which will include coupons, either offered independently by local companies, or through a partnership between the rental management company and the business itself. You can also find Currituck area magazine and coupon books at local gas stations and shopping centers.
Use filters to narrow your search:
- First and foremost, have your family commit to a vacation week and a budget.
- Determine how many beds and the bed configuration your group needs. Metamorphoseas 12 Bedroom Home in Whalehead has 12 bedrooms and 14 bathrooms.
- Precise information regarding bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is generally accessible online. If not, email or call the property management company before you book the property. Note that most listings specify maximum guest capacity, which often includes sofa beds and bunks. You will need to work out which bed configuration is right for your group.
- If there's a certain Currituck destination you are enamored with, keep an eye out for properties that are either close by, or those that cater especially to your desires.
- Proper accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for those with limited mobility. Confirm all required amenities are available before booking.
- If your group is bringing pets, filter your search for a rental that allows animals. Request details on breed, size, and type requirements. Some property owners charge pet deposits and fees.
Tips for your stay:
- Take a copy of the property manager's phone number and entry/exit procedures for your . We recommend storing the manager's contact information in your smartphone and wallet.
- To ensure that damages are not linked to your stay, note any problem areas when you arrive. message the rental manager immediately to report any pre-existing damages. If there is a dispute about legal responsibility later, having a record of issues and contact attempts will be very helpful.
- Hosts are great sources of help! Don't be shy to ask any questions during your stay.
- Be a good neighbor. Often times, adjacent homes are filled by local residents. Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking rules can make a stay significantly more pleasurable.
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Local residents can usually help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to grab the best tacos, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for crabbing?
- Protect the property owner (and your things!) by locking and securing the home when you are out, just like you would back home.
- Upon check-out, complete a final walk-through to confirm you did not forget anything. Make sure to check closets, dressers, garages, and bathrooms for hidden belongings. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Record a video to document the condition of the property.
- After your trip, leave a review! Hosts rely on good feedback to drive new bookings. They'll be much obliged for your feedback. Alternatively, if something wasn't as described, other vacationers will appreciate that you share your feedback and help them have the best future vacation. Remember to be objective. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the host had any control over the issue, and if so, whether they responded quickly to fix it.
