How to find the best Corolla vacation property experience:
Finding the best rental value:
- June, July, and August are the most expensive months in coastal NC. To find the best value, try changing your family's Currituck trip dates to the Spring or Fall shoulder seasons. May, September, and October offer excellent temperatures, , and greatly reduced traffic.
- The earlier you can reserve a vacation home, the better your selection will be. The best rental properties are booked early. Reserving your vacation home up to twelve months before your vacation is recommended. Winter holidays are excellent times to plan and book your vacation rental.
- Hosts and Property managers sometimes offer discounts for active duty military and veterans. Remember to ask your property manager if special offers are available for your family before you book.
- Booking websites often offer their guests an option to obtain trip insurance. Trip insurance, which generally costs 1% - 5% of the base reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any missed vacation time as a result of medical-related emergencies or weather disasters, as well as hurricane evacuation costs, such as an unanticipated hotel overnight or additional gas expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a life-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your host for specifics.
- Look for your local Currituck area magazine upon arrival. If your rental home doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers. In addition to great local articles, travel guide magazines contain offers and deals for local attractions, tours, restaurants, and shops.
Planning and choosing your prefectrental home:
- To start, have your group agree to vacation dates and a max budget.
- Determine how many bedrooms and the bed configuration your group needs. Basnight -- Beautiful New Construction Oceanfront Home with Elevator, Theater, Gameroom and Ocean Views! has 12 bedrooms and 13 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our Currituck rental home search.
- Specific descriptions of bedrooms and bed counts is generally accessible online. If they are not listed, email or call the host before reserving the home. Note that most listings specify the maximum guest capacity, which typically includes pull-out couches and bunk beds.
- Does your family require unique amenities? Most rental websites include search filters with amenity lists. Filtering by amenity will allow you to quickly find the best rental.
- Suitable accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for persons with disabilities. Remember to confirm all required amenities are included before booking
- Are you traveling with furry, four-legged family members? Although a number of vacation homes allow pets or animals, guidelines and costs vary per property. Allowable pet type, breed, and size are often limited. Make sure to ask before booking, and study your agreement! Pet fees or costs might be applied to your agreement.
Have a fantastic stay:
- Review check in & check out procedures before traveling. Save the instructions to your phone, and take a printed copy.
- Note any issues with the rental during check in, and immediately e-mail them to the host. We especially recommend e-mails and text messages, as they usually contain built-in time stamps that are beneficial if there is a dispute.
- Ask questions. You may want instructions for a hot tub, A/V setup or thermostat. Contact your host. They are there to help! A brief text message can prevent quite a few problems.
- Respecting quiet hours and parking regulations can make a stay significantly more pleasurable. Be a good neighbor. You will increase your chance to make some new local friends, and resident neighbors are usually a terrific source for finding the best local beaches and hangouts.
- Don't forget to... Ask a local! Residents can often help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to get the best seafood, have a great night out, or the best spots for BBQ?
- Lock your rental property while you're away! Don't let crooks spoil your vacation.
- Double-check every room of the rental property to make sure that you've packed all of your family's items at departure. Re-check bathrooms, dressers, and closets for hidden items. Clean out the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Walk through the property one final time and look for damage. We suggest inspecting the property with the host whenever possible. If the manager is not available, ensure that you take video of the rental to record its condition.
- Did your group have a great vacation? Many rental managers make it easy for travelers to provide comments. If your rental property and/or property manager was wonderful, they would love to hear about it. If anything was out of order and they failed to address it reasonably, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make it a point as part of your review.
