Tips and Tricks to get the perfect Currituck rental home experience:
Get the best rental home value:
- Summer months are high season in Corolla. Booking in Spring or Fall is one of our best tips for saving money on your vacation. Rates are lower, and you'll find a better selection of acceptable homes. Many vacationers use this strategy to reserve larger homes, or to book a beach front vacation rental that would otherwise be unavailable or unaffordable during the high season.
- Book your rental as soon as possible. Rental schedules generally open twelve months in advance (or in September just after Summer ends). Many families book their Summer rentals during Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years Eve gatherings. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
- Some owners offer promotional rates for veterans and active duty military. Remember to ask your property manager if special discounts are available for your group before you book.
- Property management companies typically offer renters an option to obtain vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which commonly will cost anywhere between 1% - 5% of the base reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for missed time as a result of medical-related issues or weather, as well as hurricane evacuation costs, such as an unexpected hotel overnight or additional gasoline expenses. Trip insurance might be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen happens. Ask your property manager for specifics.
- Look for your local Currituck visitors guide when you check-in. If your rental property doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local grocery stores and visitor centers. In addition to great local articles, visitors guides have coupons for nearby accommodations, restaurants and tours.
How to choose the perfect rental home in the Currituck area:
- First, have your family choose the best dates and a max budget.
- Decide how many bedrooms and what type of bedroom configuration your family needs. Basnight -- Beautiful New Construction Oceanfront Home with Elevator, Theater, Gameroom and Ocean Views! has 12 bedrooms and 13 bathrooms.
- Specific information regarding bedrooms and bed counts & types is almost always accessible on booking websites. Otherwise, contact the property management company before booking the home. Note that most properties list the max. guest capacity, which usually includes sofa beds.
- Looking for specific amenities? Most websites include amenity lists and search filters. Use these to your advantage to find the perfect rental home.
- Appropriate accessibility can make or break a vacation for those with limited mobility. Confirm all required amenities are available and included before reserving a rental
- Some rental properties allow pets, but others don't. Acceptable types of family pet, weight and breeds may be restricted, and additional costs may apply. Ask your host about pet restrictions before booking.
Considerations for your stay:
- Take a copy of the owner's phone number and check in/check out procedures for your rental property.
- Make a record of any issues with the property upon arrival, and immediately send them to the host. We especially recommend texts and e-mails, as they usually contain built-in time stamps that can be helpful if damages are assessed.
- Property managers are great sources of help! Feel free to ask questions during your stay.
- Respecting quiet hours and parking restrictions can make a stay more pleasurable. Be a good neighbor. You'll magnify your chance to make local friends, and resident neighbors are usually a terrific resource to find the best local attractions.
- Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Residents can frequently help. Who better to ask where to rent beach equipment, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for fishing?
- Keep the property locked while you're out! Don't let thieves ruin your trip.
- At departure, take a final walk-through to confirm you haven't leave anything behind. Check dressers, closets, and bathrooms for hidden items. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Document the condition of the property at check-out. We recommend taking a video during your final walk-through.
- Did your family have a excellent stay? Many rental home management companies make it easy for customers to provide feedback. If your rental property and/or property manager was great, they would love to hear about it. If anything was defective and they failed to correct it reasonably, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make it a point as part of your feedback.
