Strategies for getting the best vacation property experience:
Get the most from your vacation rental budget:
- In the Currituck area, The sooner you can book a vacation home, the better your selection will be. The best vacation rentals are booked early. Reserving your vacation rental six to twelve months before your travel dates is recommended. Winter holidays are excellent times to search for and book your rental property.
- Summer time is high season in Corolla. Booking your Currituck vacation rental in Spring or Fall is an excellent way to save money on your vacation. Rental rates are lower, and you'll find a better selection of acceptable homes.
- Veterans and Active Duty Military members may qualify for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property management company or host whether your vacationing group qualifies for a price reduction or discount.
- Booking websites often offer guests an option to purchase vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which normally costs between 1% - 5% of the reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any missed time as a result of personal medical-related issues or weather disasters, as well as evacuation charges, such as an unanticipated hotel or additional gas expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a bank account-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your host for additional information.
- Find a copy of your local Currituck visitors guide upon arrival. If your rental doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local shops and fuel stations. In addition to great articles, travel guides have discounts for nearby shops and restaurants.
Make a plan and choose the right Currituck vacation home:
- Choose vacation week and budget.
- Decide how many bedrooms and what type of bedroom configuration your family requires. Memories: Screened Porch, Private Pool, Currituck Club Amenities has 4 bedrooms and 5 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our rentals search.
- Precise descriptions of bedrooms and bed counts & types is regularly accessible on booking websites. If not, contact the property owner before reserving the home. Note that most properties list the max. guest capacity, which oftentimes includes pull out couches in living rooms. You will need to establish what is optimal for your vacation family.
- Some rental properties allow pets, but others don't. Acceptable types of pet, weight and breeds may be restricted, and additional charges may apply. Ask the property manager about allowable breeds and types before booking.
- If there's an individual Currituck destination you are enamored with, look for homes that are either near by, or those that cater especially to your desires.
- Appropriate accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for guests that require the use of a wheelchair. Confirm all required amenities are included before booking.
Considerations for your stay:
- Put the manager's contact information in your smartphone and wallet.
- Property managers are great sources of help! Feel free to ask questions during your stay.
- Keep your rental home locked while you're gone! Don't let burglars spoil your vacation.
- During check-in, note any issues with the property and immediately alert the owner. Keep records of all coorespondence.
- Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like obnoxious visitors bothering your peace. Employ the golden rule for common sense. Happy residents may even recommend great restaurants and scenic spots you would have never otherwise known about!
- Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Local residents can often help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to book the best tours, have a great night out, or the best spots for fishing?
- Don't leave anything behind! Just before departing, walk through the rental to reconfirm you've collected all personal items. Remember to check closets, dressers, garages, and bathrooms for hidden items. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Go through the rental one final time and keep an eye out for any damage. We suggest walking through with the host whenever you can. If the manager is not available, take pictures of the property to record its condition at check-out.
- Did your family have a great time? Most rental home management companies make it easy for travelers to provide comments. If your property and/or host was wonderful, they will likely appreciate your kind words. If anything was defective and they failed to correct it in a reasonable manner, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make it a point as part of your feedback.
