Tricks and tips to get the best vacation property experience:
Get the most from your vacation rental budget:
- To get the largest rental home within budget, we suggest booking in the Fall or Spring shoulder seasons. You'll benefit from lower rates, better selection, beautiful weather and the absence of giant crowds at local restaurants, tours, and activities. Many vacationers use this strategy to find larger homes within budget, or to book an oceanfront vacation rental that would otherwise be unavailable during the high season. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a Currituck vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday vacation on the coast? Christmas, Thanksgiving, and New Years Eve are great times to gather with loved ones at your favorite beach.
- In the Currituck area, The earlier you can reserve a vacation home, the easier your search will be. The best rental properties are booked early. Booking your vacation property 6-12 months before your vacation is recommended. Winter holidays are excellent times to plan and reserve your rental property.
- Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may qualify for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property manager if your vacationing group qualifies for a discount.
- Property management companies typically offer customers an option to buy trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which commonly will cost anywhere between 1% - 5% of the base stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any missed trip time as a result of medical-related catastrophes or weather, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation charges, such as an unanticipated hotel or additional gas expenses. Trip insurance can be a a life-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask the property owner for more information.
- Look for your local Currituck visitors guide when you check-in. If your rental home doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local shops and visitor centers. In addition to great articles, visitor guide magazines contain money saving offers on nearby attractions, tours, restaurants, and shops.
How to choose and book the rightrental:
- Begin by choosing your the best vacation week and a maximum budget.
- Note the number bedrooms and what type of bedroom configuration your group requires. \"Parked In The Sand\"Corolla 4x4 beach house Ocean views\/Wild Horses\/Pet friendly has 4 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms.
- Precise details about bedrooms and bed counts & types is often available on booking pages. Otherwise, call the property owner before booking your home. Remember that most listings specify maximum guest capacity, which usually includes sofa beds and bunks.
- If there's a certain Currituck destination you simply love, browse properties that are either nearby, or those that cater especially to your desires.
- Proper accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for guests that require the use of a wheelchair. Confirm all required amenities are available before reserving a rental.
- If your group is vacationing with pets, filter your search for a property that allows animals. Get details on breed, size, and type restrictions. Some hosts charge pet deposits and fees.
Tips for a smooth stay:
- Take a copy of the owner's contact number and entry/exit procedures for your . Store the host's information in your smartphone.
- Upon check-in, make note of any damages to the property and immediately alert the owner. Keep records of all coorespondence.
- Property managers are there to help! Don't be shy to ask questions during your stay.
- Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like disagreeable visitors bothering your quiet neighborhood. Use the golden rule for best judgement. If they like you, locals might even recommend great local food and places you would've never otherwise known about!
- Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Locals can often help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to rent beach equipment, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for bird watching?
- Protect the rental owner (and your things!) by locking and securing the home when you are away, just like you would at home.
- Upon check-out, complete a walk-through to make sure you haven't forget anything. Re-check dressers, closets, and bathrooms for hidden items. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Go through the property one final time and keep an eye out for damages to contents or the property itself. We recommend walking through with the property manager whenever you can. If the property manager is not available, ensure that you take video and pictures of the rental to record its condition at check-out.
- Did your family have a excellent stay? Many rental managers make it easy for clients to provide reviews. If your property and/or property management company was great, they would love to hear about it. If anything was out of order and they failed to fix it reasonably, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make it a point as part of your comments.
