Strategies to get the best vacation home experience:
Finding your perfect rental home:
- In the Currituck area, The sooner your group can reserve a vacation rental, the better your selection will be. The best rental properties are booked early. Reserving your rental 6-12 months before your vacation dates is recommended. Christmas, Thanksgiving and New Years Eve are excellent times to plan and reserve your rental.
- June, July, and August are high season in the Currituck area. To get the best value, try changing your trip dates to the Spring or Fall seasons. May, September, and even October offer great weather, , and greatly reduced traffic. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a Currituck vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday vacation near the ocean? Thanksgiving and Christmas are great times to gather with loved ones at the beach.
- Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may be qualified for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective host if your vacationing group qualifies for a price reduction.
- Property managers frequently offer renters an option to buy vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which costs between 1% - 5% of the reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for missed trip time as a result of medical-related catastrophes or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional evacuation charges, such as an unanticipated hotel or additional gasoline expenses. Trip insurance can be a a life-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask the property owner for additional information.
- Many property management companies and vacation rental houses supply Currituck area travel guide magazines which include special deals, either offered independently by local companies, or by way of a relationship between the property management company and the business itself. You can also find Currituck visitors guide magazine and coupon books at local gas stations and shopping centers.
Planning, picking, and booking yourvacation home:
- Begin by selecting your potential vacation weeks and a max budget.
- Determine how many beds and what type of bedroom configuration your family needs. \"Parked In The Sand\"Corolla 4x4 beach house Ocean views\/Wild Horses\/Pet friendly has 4 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our Currituck rental home search.
- Specific descriptions of bedrooms and bed types is commonly accessible on booking pages. Otherwise, email the property management company before booking your rental. Note that most properties list the max. guest capacity, which often includes pull-out couches.
- Some properties allow pets, but some do not. Acceptable types of family pet, size and breeds may be restricted, and added costs may apply. Ask the host about your furry family members before booking.
- If there's a certain Currituck attraction you simply love, browse properties that are either nearby, or those that cater especially to your desires.
- Proper accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for guests with disabilities. .
Additional considerations:
- Review arrival and departure procedures before traveling. Take a printed copy, and save the directions to your phone.
- Ask questions. You may want instructions for a hot tub, television set or thermostat. Contact your property manager. They are there to help! A brief call can prevent quite a few problems.
- Lock your rental while you are out. Protect the owner's property and your things!
- Upon check-in, make note of any damages to the property and immediately alert the host. Keep records of all correspondence just in case a dispute arises.
- Be respectful. Often, nearby homes are filled by permanent residents. Respecting late-night noise limits and parking policies reduces conflict and allows everyone to enjoy their day.
- Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Residents can frequently help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to take kids for a treat, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for shopping?
- On check-out day, take a walk-through to make sure you haven't forget anything. Re-check bathrooms, garages, and back yards for hidden belongings. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Inspect the rental one final time and look for damages to contents or the property itself. We recommend walking through with the property manager whenever possible. If the manager isn't available, take pictures of the property to record its condition at check-out.
- After your trip, leave a review! Property managers rely on excellent ratings to inspire future reservations. They'll be grateful for your feedback. Alternatively, if something went awry, other vacationers will be thankful you shared your review and help them have the best future vacation. Please be objective. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the manager could control the issue, and if so, whether they responded expeditiously to fix it.
