Tricks and tips to get the best rental home experience:

When to visit & When to book:

  • Summertime is the most expensive season in Corolla. To get the best value, shift your group's trip dates to the Spring or Fall shoulder seasons. May, September, and October offer warmer temperatures, less crowded beaches, and reduced traffic. Many vacationers use this strategy to reserve larger homes, or to reserve an oceanfront vacation rental that would otherwise be unavailable during the Summer.
  • Reserve your rental as early as possible. Rental schedules often open twelve months in advance (or in September just after Summertime ends). Many groups book their Summer rental homes during holiday get-togethers. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
  • Some property management companies offer special rates for active duty military and veterans. Ask your host or property manager if discounts are available for your group.
  • Booking websites typically offer customers an option to purchase vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which commonly costs 1% - 5% of the booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for days missed as a result of medical-related emergencies or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation costs, such as an unanticipated hotel or additional gas expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a bank account-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your host for program terms and fees.
  • Many rental management companies and vacation rental houses supply Currituck area visitors guides which will include money-saving deals, either offered independently by local businesses, or through a relationship with the rental management company and the business itself. You can also find Currituck visitors guide and coupon books at local gas stations and shopping centers.

Make a plan and pick your Currituck vacation home:

  • Select a group lead, select your vacation week, and choose a spending budget.
  • Determine how many bedrooms and the bed configuration your family needs. Turtles Nest at Beacon Villas 4 Bedroom Luxury Townhouse in Corolla Light Resort has 4 bedrooms and 5 bathrooms.
  • Specific descriptions of bedrooms and bed counts is regularly accessible on booking websites. If not, reach out to the host before reserving your home. Note that most properties list the maximum guest capacity, which often includes sofa beds and bunks. You'll need to determine what is suitable for your trip.
  • If there's an individual Currituck attraction you crave, search for rentals that are either near by, or those that cater especially to your needs.
  • Proper accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for persons with a disability. .
  • Are you traveling with furry, four-legged family members? Many vacation homes allow animals, but guidelines and restrictions apply. Allowable pet type, breed, and size are often limited. Make sure to ask before booking, and study your agreement! Additional pet fees or may be applied to your agreement.

Some things to know before you go:

  • Take a copy of the property manager's contact number and check in/check out procedures for your rental.
  • Make a record of any damages to the property at check in, and immediately send them to the host. We specifically recommend texts and e-mails, as they usually contain built-in time stamps that are beneficial if a dispute is filed.
  • Hosts are available to help! Feel free to ask questions during your stay.
  • Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like obnoxious visitors disrupting your peace and quiet. Employ the golden rule for common sense. If they like you, locals might even recommend great local food and places you would have not otherwise known!
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Local residents can often point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to get the best seafood, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for crabbing?
  • Lock your rental property while you're gone! Don't let thieves ruin your family vacation.
  • Just before checking out, complete a walk-through to confirm you did not forget anything. Check bathrooms, garages, and back yards for hidden items. Clean out the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
  • Walk through the rental a final time and scan for any damage. We suggest inspecting the property with the host whenever possible. If the host is not available, remember to take video of the property to record its condition.
  • Did your group have a wonderful vacation? Many rental home management companies make it easy for travelers to provide reviews. If your rental and/or property manager was wonderful, they will likely appreciate your kind words. If anything was imperfect and they failed to correct it within reason, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make it a point as part of your feedback.
