Tips and Tricks to get the perfect Currituck rental experience:
Cost saving strategies:
- To book the best rental home for your budget, we highly recommend booking in the Fall or Spring shoulder seasons. You'll enjoy lower rental rates, greater selection, gorgeous weather and the absence of giant crowds at Currituck restaurants, tours, and activities. Many vacationers use this method to find larger homes within budget, or to book an oceanfront rental that would otherwise be unavailable or unaffordable during June, July, and August.
- The earlier you can book, the better your selection will be. The best vacation rentals are reserved early. Booking your vacation property up to 12 months before your travel dates is recommended. Holidays such as Christmas and Thanksgiving are excellent times to search for and reserve your vacation home.
- Hosts and Property managers sometimes offer discounts or promotional rates for veterans. Check with your host or property manager to see if special discounts are available for your family.
- Management companies and individual rental owners frequently offer their guests an option to obtain vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which usually will cost anywhere between 1% - 5% of the stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any missed vacation time as a result of personal medical-related issues or weather, as well as evacuation costs, such as an unanticipated hotel stay or additional fuel expenses. Trip insurance might be a a bank account-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your property manager for details.
- Look for your local Currituck visitors guide upon arrival. If your rental property doesn't have one, you can find them at local shops and fuel stations. In addition to great articles, visitors guides have coupons for nearby tours, shops, and attractions.
Planning, picking, and booking the rightvacation home:
- Choose your vacation week and maximum budget.
- Dog Friendly, Community Pool
- Specific details about bedrooms and bed counts & types is often accessible on booking pages. If they are not listed, call the property manager before you reserve the home. Remember that most properties list maximum guest capacity, which oftentimes includes sofa beds. You'll need to work out which bed configuration is right for your vacation group.
- Are you looking for unique amenities? Most websites include search filters with amenity lists. Filtering by amenity will allow you to quickly find the best rental.
- Suitable accessibility can make or break a vacation for persons with a disability. Confirm all necessary amenities are included before booking.
- If your group is traveling with pets, you'll need to book a rental that allows animals. Get information on breed, size, and type requirements. Some hosts charge pet deposits and fees.
Advice for a fantastic stay:
- Take a copy of the owner's phone number and entry/exit procedures for your rental property. We recommend storing the host's contact information in your smartphone and wallet.
- Upon check-in, make note of any issues with the property and immediately alert the property manager. Record all coorespondence.
- Ask questions. You may want instructions for a garage door opener, A/V setup or appliance. Contact your owner. They are there to help! A brief call prevents a lot of concerns.
- Respecting quiet hours and parking policies can make a stay more pleasurable. You will increase your chance to make local friends, and resident neighbors are often a terrific source for finding the best local attractions.
- Don't forget to... Ask a local! Residents can often help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to launch your kayaks, have a great night out, or the best spots for fine dining?
- Keep the property locked while you're gone! Don't let crooks spoil your vacation.
- Just before checking out, complete a walk-through to confirm you did not forget anything. Remember to check bathrooms, garages, and back yards for hidden items. Clean the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Please make sure to walk through the property one final time and keep an eye out for any damage. We suggest inspecting the property with the host whenever you can. If the property manager isn't available, ensure that you take photographs of the rental to record its condition.
- After your trip, leave feedback! Property managers rely on good feedback to drive future reservations. They'll be thankful for your review. Alternatively, if something went wrong, other vacationers will will be grateful for your feedback and help them have the best future vacation. Please be fair with your feedback If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the host could control the issue, and if so, whether they responded quickly to solve it.
