When to visit Corolla & When to reserve a Corolla rental home:
- The earlier your group can book a rental home, the easier your search will be. The best vacation homes are reserved early. Reserving your rental home up to twelve months before your vacation is recommended. Winter holidays are excellent times to search for and reserve your rental home.
- Summer time is high season in Corolla. To get the best value, try shifting your family's Currituck vacation week to the Spring or Fall shoulder seasons. May, September, and even October offer great temperatures, fewer crowds, and greatly reduced traffic. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a Currituck vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday vacation on the coast? Christmas, Thanksgiving, and New Years Eve are great times to gather with friends and family at the beach.
- Hosts and Property managers sometimes offer special rates for veterans. Remember to ask your host or property manager if rate reductions are available for your family before you book.
- Property management companies typically offer their guests an option to buy vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which commonly will cost you 1% - 5% of the base booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any missed days as a result of medical-related catastrophes or weather, as well as evacuation costs or charges, such as an unanticipated hotel overnight or extra fuel expenses. Trip insurance might be a a bank account-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask your host for additional information.
- Find a copy of your local Currituck visitors guide magazine upon checking in. If your rental property doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local shops and fuel stations. In addition to great local stories, visitor guide magazines contain money saving offers on local tours, shops, and attractions.

- Traveling with pets? Although a number of vacation homes allow pets or animals, guidelines and costs vary per property. Type of pet, size and breeds may be limited. Remember to ask the property manager before booking, and study your agreement thoroughly! Extra fees or applied to your invoice.

Tips for your stay:
- Review arrival and departure procedures before leaving home. Take a printed copy, and save the directions to your smartphone.

- Lock your rental home while you are out. Keep your property safe!
- Upon arrival, make note of any damages to the property and immediately contact the property manager. Keep records of all coorespondence.
- Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like unpleasant visitors bothering your peace. Use the golden rule for best judgement. If they like you, locals might even recommend great beaches and attractions you would've not otherwise known about!
- Don't forget to... Ask a local! Residents can typically help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to rent beach equipment, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for BBQ?
- Don't leave anything behind! Before departing, take a walk through the property to make sure you've collected all personal belongings. Make sure to check dressers, closets, and bathrooms for hidden belongings. Clean the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Inspect the rental one final time and keep an eye out for any damage. We recommend inspecting the property with the property manager whenever you can. If the property manager is not available, ensure that you take pictures of the property to record its condition.
- Did you have a great stay? Most vacation rental websites make it easy for clients to provide reviews. If your rental property and/or property management company was terrific, they would love to hear about it. If anything was defective and they failed to address it reasonably, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make it a point as part of your comments.
