Tips and Tricks to get the perfect Currituck rental experience:

When to visit Corolla & When to reserve a rental home:

  • June, July, and August are the most expensive months in the Currituck area. Booking a rental in Fall or Spring months is a good way to save on your vacation. Rates are lower, and you'll find a better selection of suitable properties.
  • The earlier your group can book a vacation rental, the easier your search will be. The best rental homes are reserved very early. Reserving your rental home six to twelve months before your vacation is recommended. Holiday gatherings are excellent times to search for and book your rental home.
  • Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may be qualified for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective host if your group qualifies for a price reduction.
  • Booking websites frequently offer renters an option to purchase vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which normally will cost you between 1% - 5% of the reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for missed days as a result of personal medical-related catastrophes or weather, as well as evacuation costs, such as an unexpected hotel overnight or additional fuel expenses. Trip insurance can be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen occurs. Ask the property owner for specifics.
  • Find a copy of your local Currituck area magazine when you check-in. If your rental property doesn't have one, you can find them at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers. In addition to great local information, visitor guides contain discounts for local restaurants, attractions, and tours.

How to pick the best rental home in the Currituck area:

  • To start, have your family choose trip dates and a maximum budget.
  • Determine how many beds and what type of bedroom configuration you need. Amazing location! - 200 yards to Beach, Close to Whalehead Club has 5 bedrooms and 5 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our Currituck vacation rental search.
  • Specific information about bedrooms and bed counts & types is normally available online. If not, email the property owner before you book your rental. Note that most property listings specify the max. guest capacity, which usually includes sofa beds.
  • If there's a certain Currituck attraction you long to visit, browse rentals that are either near by, or those that cater to your desires.
  • Appropriate accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for the less-mobile. Confirm all required amenities are available before reserving a rental.
  • Some rental properties allow pets, and others do not. Acceptable types of family pet, weight and breeds may be restricted, and added charges may apply. Ask the property manager about allowable pet guidelines before booking.

More tips for your stay:

  • Take a copy of the host's contact number and check in/check out procedures for your rental property. Store the manager's information in your smartphone.
  • To ensure that no damages are attributed to your family's stay, inspect the property for any problem areas during check in. Make contact with the property manager right away to report your findings. If there is a dispute about who is responsible, having the recorded problems and contact attempts will be valuable.
  • Ask questions. You may need instructions for a fireplace, television set or appliance. Contact your host. They are there to help! A brief phone call prevents a lot of problems.
  • Don't forget to respect your neighbors. Frequently, adjacent homes are filled by permanent residents. Respecting late-night noise limits and parking policies can make a stay significantly more pleasurable.
  • Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Neighbors can typically help. Who better to ask where to rent beach equipment, have a great night out, or the best spots for fine dining?
  • Keep the property locked while you are away! Don't let burglars spoil your vacation.
  • Double-check every room of the property to make sure that you've packed all belongings on check-out day. Make sure to check dressers, closets, and bathrooms for hidden belongings. Clean out the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Inspect the rental a final time and scan for damage. We recommend inspecting the property with the property manager whenever you can (often this isn't possible). If the host isn't available, take photos and video of the property to record its condition.
  • Remember to leave feedback! Property managers rely on excellent reviews to stimulate more reservations. They'll be grateful for your review. Alternatively, if something wasn't right, other families will be thankful you shared your review and help them have the best future vacation. Be fair with your review. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the host had any control over the issue, and if so, whether they responded reasonably to remedy it.
